We’re adding a new option to the Pioneer offer: 2% of your company for a $20k investment, in addition to all the existing benefits of becoming a Pioneer. We're also adding a monthlong trip to Silicon Valley with fellow founders.

Using pioneer for more than a year now, always up there in the leaderboard but not being selected although my project is making money from day 1. Plus, I'm not receiving any feedback from them, so not sure on the process. That being said, I do receive good feedback from other people in the competition and this also seems a good update.
Miriam Dorsett
@mikerubini Have you submitted to the livestreams where they pick projects for feedback? Or looked at those projects that they have selected? Are you in it to win it or to grow yourself regardless?
Cherepukhin
@mikerubini Yep confirming. Seen it many times with tens of post-soviet founders. Pioneer's team is absolutely not transparent in making their selections. The same thing on feedback, community is super helpful, Pioneer's team almost never provide anything non generic as feedback.
@mikerubini @mdorsett I like to see whether I could get to No 1 even for a brief moment in time. My company, www.skilledup.life no way dependent on Pioneer for growth. Love the community - most of them, anyway!

@mikerubini wishing you the best of luck! Will look out for you! Whats the name of your current wip?

@mdorsett it's called treendly.com - I'm #25 in the EU leaderboard this week https://pioneer.app/leaderboard#...

Joined the Pioneer community this year and at first did not even know that it was a competition. Really enjoyed participating for the accountability and learning about new startups. They keep rolling out new features and this latest has me excited to start off the new year and who knows maybe I'll be an "official" Pioneer by 2023! Highly recommend this product to any founder.

@manojranaweera Thank you for asking Manoj! I'm plugging along, one day at a time and learning a lot.
I have been on Pioneer since the day we went live on 1st Aug 2020. Prior to Pioneer, I took part on an online community similar to Pioneer, almost a decade ago called nreduce with edocr.com, which was acquired by Accusoft in 2015. Pioneer has many first time founders. Many have a day time job or freelancing whilst they hustle with a tech startup. Not all companies are tech startups, which frustrates purists like me. Pioneer community has helped me to strengthen the value proposition of https://skilledup.life in the early days. As a solo founder, it provided me with weekly accountability. Our team which include a large number of Volunters is now over 20. Since those days, SkilledUp Life has grown to a volunteer community of 2,586 from 71 countries. We built the supply side first. We started developing the demand side (customers) on 1st November 2021 and now have 8 customers with £223 MRR, which includes two customers from Pioneer. I would recommend Pioneer to any tech startup. The accountability aspect is really helpful. The Tournament (while it has a mind of its own and doesn't really care about traction) is useful as we as humans always want to compete. The highest I've reached is this week. At present, I am at 34th, but typically rankings change during the week, which drives some of us potty. But overall, Pioneer is a good thing for the tech startup community. May it survive and live longer!

Congrats team, looks like a great model, good luck!

Hey PH! We're announcing our biggest update to Pioneer since we first launched. We’re now giving every new Pioneer the option to receive a $20k investment for 2% of their company. We're also adding a monthlong trip to Silicon Valley. If you haven’t heard of Pioneer, here’s the quick gist: we are a startup accelerator born online. Instead of endless Zoom and gloom, Pioneer is kind of like a stock market for pre-seed companies. Anyone can sign up with their product. Then they get a weekly score that fluctuates based on progress. Talk to more users, the score goes up. Write more code, score goes up. Read Reddit, the score goes down. You get the idea. We have all the trimmings of a traditional accelerator too: selected founders become Pioneers who join our network, get mentorship, advice, etc. But that’s all icing on the cake; our desire is to build a web-native startup scene. We've funded 130+ companies from 50+ countries who've collectively raised over $100M. The hope is that the refreshed offer will make Pioneer more attractive to even more ambitious outsiders tinkering with new ideas. You can read more about the change here: https://pioneer.app/blog/announc.... As always, feedback much appreciated!

At Plutoview, we've been Pioneer winners and community members for way over a year now. I can vouch, that there is nothing better than Pioneer.app for an early stage startup. We love Pioneer, and we're really excited to see Pioneer 3.0 go live! 🚀

Honestly, I can't recommend Pioneer enough for anyone willing to start a project or a business. Having your perspective change from local to global while taking part in an absorbing culture is nothing short of amazing. Even on a personal level, participating in Pioneer accelerates growth dramatically. I really consider Pioneer as one of the best things to ever happen to underserved entrepreneurs and makers.

?makers, why do you require date of birth and gender during sign up? What difference does this information make to the process or outcome?
It's good to know who you are dealing with. I hate anonymity. There is one guy (could be a gal) who keeps changing his/her username every so often, which drives me nuts! By the way, I am just a player and not the owner of Pioneer!
Millie
@manojranaweera nothing wrong with anonymity, but that has nothing to do with the question being asked. There is no reason to ask for a DOB or gender, you just need a name and email.

Great offer for all the hustlers who want to go full-time on their project!

Pioneer is what turned my company from an Indie Hacker project to a Start Up

Pioneer is great for taking accountability. I found that it's easy for me to lose interest and accountability, pioneer helps me solve that. All the best!
