๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey Product Hunt! Last year we launched the first version of PixelSnap and since then it's been helping designers and developers work more efficiently every day. Now, over 5000 people are using PixelSnap, including companies like Adobe or Google. For the past few months we've been working really hard to rewrite the app from scratch and make the PixelSnap experience even better. I'm proud to present to you PixelSnap 2. Measuring things has never been faster or more enjoyable! New in this version: - โšก๏ธ 2x faster - ๐Ÿงฒ Magical snappable guides - ๐Ÿ“ธ CleanShot integration - ๐Ÿ”— Adobe XD & Sketch integrations (more apps coming soon) - ๐Ÿ”ฅ Touch Bar support - ๐Ÿ•น Easy mouse access - ๐ŸŒ— Auto contrast - ...and a lot more! You can check out all the 30+ changes on the website. ๐ŸŽ Users of the first version are eligible for an upgrade discount. I would love to hear your feedback on this!

This is a no-brainer upgrade for me. PixelSnap 1 has been amazing (using it for over a year now), and this just adds even more features.

Pros:

PixelSnap2 adds a ton of quality of life updates that I didn't even realize PixelSnap was missing. Love the innovation, and added features!

Cons:

As others have mentioned, an integration with Droplr would be amazing, as I use that for all my screenshot uploads.

This is a great upgrade to one of the most useful tools for designers and developers.

Pros:

Precise information about the size of things on your screen, screenshots with uniform padding around elements, guides, quick clipboard copy

Cons:

Perhaps cloud upload or an integration with Droplr, etc.?

Congrats on the launch! PixelSnap has been one of my favorite Mac apps since it launched. I use it countless times during the day โ€” it even replaced my default screenshot shortcut. v2 feels much faster and the guides are very useful ๐Ÿ˜

I may not be the intended user for PixelSnap, I'm neither a designer not a developer but I've used this and CleanShot every day since they were in beta to take perfectly aligned screenshots (this is extremely painful to do otherwise) of products that launch on Product Hunt to share on our social channels and even update the gallery sometimes and PixelSnap + CleanShot have genuinely made my work so much easier! Glad to see the two are integrated now!

Pros:

It works so flawlessly, feels like Apple made it themselves. Really love the Cleanshot integration too!

Cons:

Seems to be a recurring theme in the reviews; some sort of cloud integration for screenshots would be great!

Truly revolutionary tool!!! @amrlth

This is really amazing!!

I used PixelSnap every day since it was released so upgrading to v2 was a no brainer. It's worth paying for, no doubt about that.

Pros:

Everything about it has just got better, many more features and capabilities I hadn't even known I would want or need.

Cons:

Honestly nothing.

Yes yes yes!

Great tool! Integration with platform like Figma and Webflow will be great

Pros:

Smooth, poweful and highly ease my workflow.

Cons:

None except integration with Figma will be a nice add on :)

I think it's a great tool, but it's a little expensive for a ruler. It would be great to have a color picker.

Just bought it. Seems super easy to use and very handy
Oleg Buylov

this is why they do not want you to try it before buy

Pros:

it looked great on screenshots but it is completely unusable for real work

Cons:

I liked semiautomatic idea - more tools should measure things like this

Luke Oslizlo
I understand it might not be useful enough for everyone, but I wonder why you didn't ask for a refund. Your purchase is way after our 30-day money-back guarantee but I'm still more than happy to give you a full refund for it.
Oleg Buylov
no thx you can keep it I just disappointed I wrote a review not because I feel ripped off I wrote it because I didt like it and it compete with tools that actually work for me
wojtek
@oleg_buylov You can't even explain why you don't like this app other than the price.
Oleg Buylov
@pugson actually I can just was a bit lazy + english my second language... the first version that I used can do only one measurement and deletes old one... Im not able to change or move frames after creation with keyboard like all other apps of this type do - auto capture is not accurate at all so I really need it tools I need: rullers loupes guides crosshair frames dimension the reason I need them in one app is their measurements has to be relative to each other there is no grid no golden ratio no angle measurement but most importantly it does not support keyboard shortcats other than snapping
Oleg Buylov
@pugson oh yes I also need measurements to stay on screen all the time I need to switch apps and see them I need an ability to hide/show them when I need it I mean it is not a toy it is tool for work!!!!

Looks like a useful product. On the other hand, it would be an awesome feature if the product could include an extra measuring statement, like rem, em and point.

As a QA engineer who's tried every single CSS ruler Chrome extension in existence, PixelSnap is solid gold. Easy to use, shortens visual debug time by an order of magnitude, and the price is right.

Looks like such a useful product!

Awesome app, I just would have liked the license to be per user instead of per computer and I would love an integration with CloudApp for the screenshots.
