Plan is a collaboration software that intelligently organizes projects, tasks and meetings from all the tools you and your team use: calendar, email, JIRA, Zendesk, Salesforce, and Github. Think of it like a work concierge. Currently, teams and individuals at Buzzfeed, Uber, Twitter and JP Morgan use Plan for a total of 20,000 monthly active users.

When does Exchange support come? 😎

I've been looking for a GCal replacement for a while. Sunrise was good on the Web, but not so much on mobile. Android in the works?
Darshan Desai
@romanzadyrako Loooots of requests for Android in the past 24 hours. We're big fans of making sure the Plan experience is high quality on each platform we offer, so after our Mac app is out of beta we'll start focusing on Android :)

Could you increase the contrast on the text etc. Its very light hard to see and sometimes irritating
Leonardo Zizzamia
@prabhu1101 we've been focusing only a few devices so far, but we are definitely going to test more devices and improve the color contrast on PCs and Mobile Web.
Askar
Love it so far, the color tones seem to be a bit too blanched for my taste and makes it harder to notice things around. All Day tasks can also be shown more visibly than those dot indicators. Overall it's way much better for a calendar solution.
Darshan Desai
@askar Thanks for the comment! You can change both the calendar and default list colors fairly easily: calendar colors are controlled by your Google Calendar colors and list colors can be edited by tapping the pencil icon on the right side. Day tasks should appear as actual calendar events on the day of as well, with the dots just being a reminder that you have something due that day. Let me know if that's not the behavior you're seeing!
Askar
@darshan1394 thanks for the response, overall the color scheme can be improved and made a bit brighter. I couldn't see the Day tasks on the day, only when I hover over the dots and that's not enough.

Love this! I just wish it could work together with Flow!

I've been using this since the beta came out. It's deceptively powerful. It forces you to address the fact that you are constrained by how many hours there are in the day, and you need to decide what will make a difference. Which means you need to admit what you won't get done.

Tell us what the big updates are here since the post 10 months ago? The long-awaited iOS app is now out I see 😊 - what were the struggles in fitting such a sophisticated web-app into an app?
Darshan Desai
@bentossell @chadbyers Thanks Ben & Chad! Since getting feedback here in May, we went heads down and started making sure you could rely on Plan entirely for everything you'd need to manage your day. That meant fleshing out both the tasks and meetings side of things, in addition to creating a mobile experience that rivals the desktop. Some of the features we've added in: support for multiple Google accounts, meeting invites, and a smart input that does a pretty good job of figuring out what you're trying to say. One of the biggest challenges for mobile was figuring out how to keep the connection between the two most integral parts of the app -- the tasks list and calendar, so that you can effortlessly organize your work for the day. Long pressing on your agenda view in Plan slides in a calendar view that lets you easily drop-to-create and rearrange time to work on tasks and meetings. Around all day to answer questions + feature reqs! πŸ˜„ 😁

@darshan1394 What are your plans in terms of integrations with other apps (Trello, Wunderlist, etc)?
Stowe Boyd
Without sharing -- task assignment, @mentions, and so on -- this can't really displace other tools except for soloists living in an ice cave in Antarctica. Nice UI, though. @darshan1394 @bentossell @chadbyers Likewise, integrations: doesn't even post dated tasks on Google calendar.
Dave Guilford
@darshan1394 Really like the interface. How long until tasks sync with Google Calendar? I need coworkers to be able to see that I'm not available because I'm on something else. Also, I realize there's no Android app yet, but without the task sync to Google Calendar it's really tough to go mobile if you're on Android.
Darshan Desai
@daveguilford Tasks you create after toggling the sync should show up instantaneously on GCal -- let us know if you're having trouble still!
Keith Kurson
I love this.
Merek Davis
Been beta testing this for a while. Beautiful product and you are consistently releasing new beta builds, which gives me a lot of confidence that you're actively committed to the long run. Kudos. One question I did have was iCal integration. Is that something that will be coming?
Darshan Desai
@merekdavis Thanks for the comment! We'll roll out official iCal integration in the next few months, but if you set up iCal to Google Calendar sync, you'll be able to see all of you events in Plan from iCal!

So far, I've been more productive with Plan then any other productivity tools! Great UI guys, and very easy to use. Can't wait for what your plans are for the next update(s). (Hope to see an android app soon :))

Great concept, I've been playing around with task managers and calendars and this is a pleasant surprise. I love the feature for rescheduling events that didn't take place and consciously blocking out time for getting things done. What kind of users do you keep in mind when designing?
Marie Lotode Chandra
This is great and I'm a fan but is there a way to sync tasks to and from another platform (trello, wunderlist, etc.)?
Darshan Desai
@marielchandra Definitely on our list! We're starting with ones that add more functionality than just task management (ones geared towards collaboration, etc., like Trello) soon, and then at the very least offering one-way sync with other services.
Christopher Leach
Really want to try this out! Any iCloud integration plans for the future?
Darshan Desai
@leachy114 Yep! iCloud + Exchange are next in line for support. One short term workaround a lot of our users use is iCloud --> Google (invisible after initial setup) --> Plan
My User
Very Nice! @darshan1394 Any plans to add repeating tasks? (or maybe there already is a way to do this).
Shayne O'Sullivan
really smooth guys. This is a cool concept. Any integrations going?
Roel Magdaleno
Hi, I downloaded the app from the App Store and I getting some issues. I installed it, login, and that's Ok, but when I try to add a meeting or task, it doesn't add anything. Another issue happens when I touch the "Morning" and "All Day" title, when I do that, the app crashes and close. I'm using an iPhone 5. I really love this app. :)
Darshan Desai
@roelmagdaleno The crash should be fixed! Could you describe a bit more the issue with adding tasks and meetings? Shoot us an email @ hello@getplan.co!
Matthew Blode
Do the tasks sync into Google Calendar app? And can I get notifications on my android phone? Edit: I found the sync tasks to calendars switcher in the dropdown under my initials.
Helen Crozier
I really like the mobile version - the only thing Plan is missing is the automatic scheduling that Focuster has. It moves your most important things into spaces on your calendar like magic! Still Plan is a very solid product - so much better having time and tasks integrated imho.
Darshan Desai
@helencrozier Thanks Helen! One of the big things we want to work on is making it easier to schedule and re-schedule tasks and meetings, so expect some features in that vein! We think those kinds of intelligent features are the most helpful when they have a high % of accuracy (instead of having to constantly reschedule automatically scheduled tasks), so we're going to focus on really getting it right 99% of the time before we release!
