We already integrate with Notion as a data source so you can send and get data from your databases.
Internally, we have contextual add-on support for Notion (and we've built a lot of add-ons!), but the creation experience isn't clear enough. We're working on making it more seamless and will release to everyone. Shouldn't be too long.

Airtable and Ply work amazing together. If you're into database-like apps, I'd also try SmartSuite, it's a stellar product and we have a deep integration with them.
Most popular apps being used are Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot, Salseforce and Gmail. But we've only just added some of the other ones so the votes are still coming in 😅

Did I understand right, with ply I can create notifications for apps with no notifications? How difficult is it for non-developers?

The short answer is that it depends. Let me explain :)
The goal of Ply's notifications is to let you build the post-click functionality - what happens after you click a notification. So for example, when someone fills out a Typeform, you want to get the info and act on it (like decide if you want to take the call, or respond with a personal email or proposal with a click. That's the "actionable" part of the notification.
As for which apps can send it - they need to support webhooks. We hope to introduced more ways to send notifications in the future. If they support webhooks, you can choose when and about what to get notified with any condition you want. Webhooks aren't complex and if you need help reach out to our team on Intercom through the app and we'll be glad to help out.
If the app doesn't support webhooks, currently you can't send notifications from it.

I've been using Ply for a while now, and I'm super impressed by how intuitive and powerful your builder is. Kudos on your launch. One thing I wanted to ask, though, are there any plans to let users build their own context for apps you don't support?

Yeah, we've been getting this a lot. We definitely want to let you define custom contexts. We've built Ply with different ways to support context awareness, we're still working on making this intuitive enough for anyone.
Currently, our thoughts are to have a no-code context creator for most use-cases and a codable one for when you need even more control.

I have been using Ply for several months and it is such a fantastic product. totally changed the way I work.
Really cool idea, I've built multiple chrome extensions for teams, and we've even shared them internally (extension store let's you deploy extensions to the whole team)
Assuming this would have an outside of the chrome webstore sharing mechanism?
Additionally, one of the main things is... websites change, css/layout etc' all change and there needs to be a constant testing, how is Ply considering supporting dynamic websites with their intergrations? Is it automated ?

re: detecting website changes (css etc) - we do have internal tools to monitor changes, that way we are able to quickly fix and adapt to new layouts, and even to support a/b tests (where 2 different users see different layout in the same app).
Love the concept! sounds like a lot of awesome things can be built. Is it only for Chrome, or do you plan to work with other browsers?

To make sure we focus, we officially only support Chrome at the moment. However, since this is a Chromium extension, we've seen users use it on all Chromium browsers. Official support for other browsers is on the roadmap.

Nice! Being able to customize apps I use was the killer feature for me 🔥 I will definitely give it a try these next few weeks. Question: Do you plan to add upvotes to the "Gallery" page? It'd be interesting to see what other stuff people created and the community liked.

Yeah, our new idea center will be open soon (for now open to some users). It allows upvoting internally in your team.
We're building our community as the go to place to share ideas with others. It's still early days for it, but we'll make sure it grows nicely.

@matcha_anil Great question. Retool is an amazing product.
The key difference is that Retool is made to build standalone tools, and Ply is made to build contextual ones. Because of that, there are a lot of differences in how the products are built - permissions management, capabilities, engine and the builder itself.
Also, retool is a developer tool, and Ply is Nocode. While a lot of our users are developers, we also support nocoders in a big way. It's way easier to build with Ply for someone who isn't a coder.
Ply is also more opinionated, making it easier to create most things, but without the complete control you would have if you built something from scratch. Classic tradeoffs.
A lot of our customers moved some of their Retool apps to Ply, because it just makes more sense. But again, it depends on the usecase.

Our integration with Twitter lets users add features to Twitter posts and user profiles. The profile context can support a Clearbit enrichment-style use case. The post context allows you to share or save interesting tweets in the apps of your choice.

🧩 Add-ons - buttons inside your apps that open custom interfaces overlayed where you are. They are contextual, meaning they can use data from the item you’re currently on (like an email, a deal, or a ticket). 🧩 Tools - features that work anywhere with Ply’s command bar, they can use URLs and selected text. 🧩 Actionable Notifications - event-based notifications with custom post-click functionality. 🧩 Portals - customer-facing embeddable features directly on your apps’ data.Built for teams, small and large
✔️ Magic sharing - builders can remotely add features to team apps, end-users have nothing to learn. ✔️ Collaboration - get granular with spaces that let your team build and manage features together ✔️ Synced groups - sync permission structure from other apps. For example, you can share Ply features in Zendesk based on Zendesk teams, and never have to manage permissions in Ply. ✔️ Step level connection mode - define some actions to run with a one-for-all connection, and some with a per-user connection. For example, in one step you can have a single Airtable connection to get data from a database for all users, and in anther step let every user connect their own Gmail to send an email. 🛡️ Security first - aligned with the strictest standards.
