Hi PH community, any fellow travelers here? šŸ‘‹šŸ—ŗļø Iā€™m Job, one of the founders of Polarsteps. Itā€™s been almost ten years since our launch on PH and our app has changed so much that weā€™ve been eager to share an update with you. It never felt quite like the right time, but weā€™ve been busy launching a succession of massive new features and redesigns to our app that weā€™re really excited about. Theyā€™re all meant to help you make the most out of your travels. Thatā€™s why we figured that now would be a great time to ask for your feedback. So, whatā€™s new in the Polarsteps app? šŸŒ Automatically track and plot your travels on a completely revamped, beautiful world map. Add photos, videos and stories from the road and share your journey with friends and family (or keep it to yourself, you have full privacy control). šŸ‘Æ Travel Together: our most requested feature has finally arrived! You can now create trips collaboratively with up to 5 friends. šŸ—ŗļø Plan your trips with our free travel guides to 400+ world destinations, curated by expert editors. Directly build your dream itinerary with our travel planner. šŸ“š After your trip has ended, create a unique printed Travel Book at the touch of a button with our improved editor, filled with your pictures and stories. We couldnā€™t be more excited about these new features and would love to hear your feedback. Whatā€™s your number one feature we should work on next? Weā€™ll be hanging out in the comment section and are happy to answer any questions you might have!

The free travel guide feature is dope @jobharmsen , few of my friends were already using Polarsteps in past but now after revamp I'll be part of that list too. All the best for the launch

Hi Job, thanks for sharing the exciting updates! The revamped world map and the Travel Together feature sound fantastic. How does the privacy control work when sharing trips with friends and family?
Francesco
Hi @jobharmsen, great tool for planning your travels and checking up on your family and friends while they are traveling. Quick question: what security measures do you take for the "full privacy control" data?
Job Harmsen
@neolocus Thanks! We make sure never to upload or store anything without your permission, and itā€™s entirely up to you who can see your account and trips. Loads more to be said on this topic, but you can find a detailed overview here: https://support.polarsteps.com/a...

Followed the travels of some of my family members through Polar Steps. Great to keep track of where they've been, what they've seen and experienced.

I loved following my girlfriend's hike trip on PolarSteps! Time for us to explore the rest of the features, so far we focusses on the journalling of trips. I love the idea of having a book printed after our trip!

The concept is amazing behind your travel books. Turning memories into something tangible like a printed book feels special, and I love that itā€™s so easy to make one.

I saw this in my weekly PH email and had to leave a review. My wife does not use any social media. She wanted to share our recent European trip with friends and family and found this app. It was brilliant; she and all our friends and family loved it. I cannot recommend this app highly enough.

Hey Job, The collaborative trip planning feature is a great addition! I'm wondering, how does Polarsteps handle areas with poor internet connectivity? Is there an offline mode for tracking when you're off the grid? Congrats on the launch!
Job Harmsen
@kyrylosilin thatā€™s right Kyrylo! Polarsteps will work offline, making sure you can track your trip without internet connection. Once youā€™re online again, it will sync all data.

Itā€™s awesome to hear about all the exciting updates to Polarsteps, Job! As a fellow traveler, the new features youā€™ve added sound like theyā€™ll really enhance the experience for those who love to explore the world and document their journeys. The automatic trip tracking and revamped world map make it easier than ever to visually plot travels, which is something I know many of us travelers valueā€”especially when we want to relive or share those memories. The new Travel Together feature is a fantastic addition, especially for group trips. Itā€™s always been tricky to manage shared itineraries, so this will definitely make it more collaborative and fun. The travel guides and planner feature also sound like a great way to streamline trip planning, and being able to print those travel books after a trip ends is such a personal and special way to memorialize the experience. As for feedback on what to focus on next, perhaps expanding on the collaborative aspect furtherā€”such as real-time location sharing or group notifications during tripsā€”could be useful. It might also be cool to have integration with local insights or recommendations from other Polarsteps users based on destinations youā€™re visiting. Really excited to see how Polarsteps continues to evolve! Keep up the great work! šŸŒāœˆļøā€‹ā¬¤
