With Portal, let your clients login on your own website and give them one place for payments, messaging, file-sharing, eSignatures, intake forms, and more.
@ffumarola Thanks! We've seen a lot of customers switch from platforms like suitedash and are working on new features to target specific verticals. We just released a Dashboard module in beta that a lot of property managers using appfolio would really like.
I've kept an eye on the portal space for years when building them for clients. This looks like a game-changer! Great work on the design and functionality!
Fantastic product. I did a demo earlier this week and I’ve been impressed by their ambitious roadmap to improve an already great and game changing product. Switching a handful of systems over this week!
This looks awesome but too rich for my blood. I'm only starting out with freelancing and clients are few and far between just now. Have you considered a free / considerably less expensive tier and capping it based on number of clients or revenue to limits that are pretty low? It would allow people like me to get in at ground level and grow with you as our own ventures grow.
@shawn_vo it's really customizable. You can:
1. Connect a custom domain
2. Set your color scheme.
3. Set your logos and icons
4. Setup a custom sign in/sign up screen.
Your customizations also extend beyond the product to cover email notifications, etc. Basically we want your portal to look as though it was custom built for you.
Thanks @katmanalac for hunting us!
Hi everyone. Marlon here, cofounder and CEO at Portal. Over a 2-year period working on startups, we gained a lot of experience working with service providers - agencies, bookkeepers, lawyers, engineering firms, accountants, etc. - and we *always* found that from our perspective (as the client) the experience felt disorganized with separate tools communication, file-sharing, payments, etc.
We started Portal because we envisioned a world where we could just go to our service provider's website, login, and have everything unified in one place. Portal is one integrated solution that lets your clients:
💳 Pay invoices and track subscriptions
💬 Message you
📁 Securely share files
✍️ Complete eSignature requests
❓ Complete intake forms
Just like your marketing website, we think that your portal is a direct reflection of your brand. And so we made sure that it feels modern, is fast, and is customizable in a way where it can look exactly like your own brand.
There's a free trial and sign up only takes 2 minutes, so we hope you try it out!
Interesting product, and I'm all about improving the UX of working with us. But we're not going to start manually creating invoices in another tool (we're deeply set up with Quickbooks). We're not likely going to use _another_ communication tool when everyone's already in email, and almost everyone's in Slack (unfortunately). And we already have our PM platform (ClickUp) and our various documentation tools (GDocs, Pitch, ClickUp Docs). And I don't see anything in Portal about keeping clients apprised of status (what's been worked on, what's being worked on, what's needed of them), which is the core of what I'd want them to see on a portal I'd ask them to visit regularly.
Without _integrating_ with these other tools, it seems like you're not fulfilling the core premise of centralizing communications. Rather you're providing _another_ tool for the stack.
Your pricing screams "agency" but the feature set screams "freelancer". At the price point you're at, there doesn't seem to be _nearly_ enough value here. Yet. :)
But I LOVE this idea… I'll keep an eye on your evolution. (And all this sounded harsher than I meant it; more I hope you'll take it and build the tool I want to pay for :D)

@lee_fuhr hi - thx for the feedback! A few things:
1/ QuickBooks integration: Coming in 3 weeks. With that, you'll be able to create invoices/subscriptions in the Portal and data is sent to your QuickBooks account.
2/ Communication: Most the people that adopt Portal previously use email for client comms (agree with you that Slack is standard for internal comms). With our messaging module, you don't need to use email directly anymore. To be clear, when you send a message to someone in the portal, if they are not active, we do sent them email notifs automatically. But with this setup your client has all their comms with you in one place.
3/ ClickUp &Project tracking: We don't mention this on our website because the feature is still in beta, but we just launched our dashboard module. That lets you assign a ClickUp dashboard to a client and your client will see it in your portal. More details here: https://www.getrevue.co/profile/...
With (1), (2), and (3) above, your client signs into your portal and has one place from where they can pay you, talk to you, and track projects.
Definitely want to engage further on this if you think the above is not sufficient. Thanks again for the feedback. :)
@marlonmisra Since @webflowapp is an amazing no code solution for building cool and customized websites, including web shops, it's still lacking customer account feature:
- order information
- order history
- billing/shipping information
- invoices
- order tracking
- ...
Your UI is really cool and to have such an elegant customer account for e-commerce would be great.
@webflowapp@francois_carlier Thanks. We use Webflow - big fans! What you're describing seems clearly useful but requires a lot of new work & integrations with webflow, so unfortunately I don't think we can tackle this soon.
Portal is a great product, couldn't imagine going back to what we previously used. Provides great functionality with a clean user interface and they're always improving too! Well worth the money.
