Hello everyone! Welcome to the Postcard Travel Club. I started working on the Postcard platform as a passion project in 2020 when I found it difficult to discover authentic travel brands that promoted responsible tourism. Social media was noisy and I didn't know what to search for on Google. What I found missing was a travel discovery platform rooted in storytelling. At the same time, our discussions with like-minded boutique hotels and tour operators that promoted responsible tourism made us realise that they too were finding it challenging to connect with like-minded travellers using conventional marketing channels. OTAs were increasing their commission structures, social media was noisy, and Google was driving paid traffic to OTAs with deep pockets. So we felt there was an opportunity to develop a travel media and community platform to connect these two parties. We felt one of the common pieces missing was authentic storytelling and so we decided to focus on that and find a way to serve both the suppliers and buyers in a new fun way. We needed a new media format for storytelling and we drew our inspiration from a postcard - a short storytelling format for travel inspirations. We developed a 2-sided media format with an animated flip feature that allowed our partner suppliers to publish local stories of community, culture, history, food, nature and wildlife, with the intention to inspire travellers about their local experiences and invite them to visit. Every postcard also contained links to the postcard collections of our brand partners and also their website. To make the experience of using the platform more fun and compelling for buyers, we decided to introduce a "Collect" feature, where travellers could click and collect their favourite postcards and build their Postcard page of travel inspirations. They could then share their personal pages with family and friends to inspire them and also plan trips together based on similar travel interests. We also launched a podcast and a blog to help inspire, educate and facilitate connections within this community. We have more features and an app in the pipeline but I wanted to get stared here and invite you to join the Postcard Travel Club (Free Lifetime membership) and help us make travel a FORCE FOR GOOD! Thank you for your support. Best wishes, Amit Jaipuria Founder and Chief Innovation Officer
Hi Amit Jaipuria, Your initiative, the Postcard Travel Club, is a breath of fresh air in the world of travel discovery. I appreciate your commitment to responsible tourism and the creative approach you've taken to connect travelers and suppliers. Could you share more about the community aspect of your platform? How do members interact and share their travel experiences within the Postcard Travel Club? Additionally, I'm intrigued by the "Collect" feature. Can you elaborate on how it works and the impact it has had on users' travel planning? Thank you for sharing your journey and vision with us. Wishing you all the best on this inspiring endeavor!

@ricardo_luz thanks so much for your kind words. Postcard at this point is tailored to help spread the word of boutique brands that advance responsible tourism. Members of the postcard travel club can collect their favorite postcard and build their wishlist of local experiences. You can see one example at https://postcard.travel/amitjaip... Each member collection (such as the one above) can be shared with friends and every postcard has a web link to the tour, hotel or retreat page. The curated collection of boutique hotels, tours, retreats, restaurants, local guides and others give us an opportunity to showcase local stories and initiatives that uplift the local community and highlight their unique differences. We have plans to open up social features in the near future so our members can follow their favorite brands and get updates on new postcards published by them. They will also be able to publish their own travelogue in the form of postcards which others could collect. The idea is to spread local stories through postcards and inspire the world to travel more responsibly and celebrate the diversity on our planet. Soon we will also be introducing the Postcard Travel Loyalty Card for our premium members to subscribe to for deep discounts at participating hotels, tour operators and others. Hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have others. Thanks again for your encouragement and support πŸ™ Let’s make travel a FORCE FOR GOOD! 🀠

It's great to see a platform that not only connects like-minded travellers but also curates boutique brands that share the same values. Bravo! πŸ‘πŸŒ± Are there plans to incorporate local community initiatives or non-profits that focus on sustainable travel? 🀝🌳

@narendra_solanki thanks for your kind comments. Local community initiatives are being presented by our partners who are local ambassadors for responsible tourism. You can see one example of a partner that has highlighted local communities at https://postcard.travel/ayni We also have plans to onboard local restaurants, guides, retreats and other categories that again work with locals to highlight local initiatives that promote responsible tourism. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your support πŸ™

@postcardtravel That sounds incredibly thoughtful and comprehensive! I checked out the example on your site and it’s really inspiring to see local ambassadors taking the lead in responsible tourism. On boarding local restaurants, guides, and retreats will undoubtedly make the travel experience richer while benefiting local communities. I'm excited to see how Postcard continues to develop and deepen its impact. If there are ways I could contribute or support these efforts, please don't hesitate to let me know. Keep up the fantastic work! πŸŒŸπŸ™
