It’s always been hard for me to maintain a good posture while working. This has gotten much worse since WFH started – I can now work in a comfy chair or just sitting in bed. However, neglecting your posture can come at a cost of chronic back pain and other related problems.
But we are all busy and are unlikely to change our habits immediately. This is why I made Posture Check – a real-time posture monitor that lives in your Menu Bar. Here’s what it can do:
- 🏖 Monitor your posture in any environment. You just need to sit in front of a monitor that has a camera.
- 💰 No uncomfortable, expensive items needed: unlike other (physical) posture monitors, you do not need anything but the app. We use a complex algorithm to analyze your posture through video. And don’t worry, no images are ever stored.
- 👩💼 The app can be as relaxed or as uptight about your bad posture as you want it to be. You can choose to get reminded every time your posture becomes bad or just a couple of times a day.
- 🏆 Gather statistics about your improvement and suggest further action. You can even earn fun achievements for consistently improving your posture!
- 🔋 Minimized battery drain allows you to run Posture Check and preserve battery life at the same time. The app will only scan your environment when needed and will enter rest mode when inactive.
- 🔒 Privacy First: the app has been designed from the ground up with your privacy in mind. What little data we use is stored locally, no video is ever captured, and nothing is ever sent to a server.

@sunnyheart This is absolutely true. Unlike other monitors that require purchasing hardware, the app uses AI to monitor your posture. If you have any privacy concerns (I know I do!), please read the corresponding section to get more detail on that. You can easily check that the app never saves or sends anything anywhere, due to the fact that it's a sandboxed macOS application distributed through the App Store (and thus has to maintain compliance with the Developer and Distribution agreements).
Awesome product. I have been using it since it has come out and already have seen remarkable improvement in my posture. Definitely glad I found this since I’ve been WFH!
