@eytanbuchman good question! A few–
1. Shorter delivery promises don’t always drive conversions: Offering a faster delivery promise didn’t increase conversions in some cases.
2. Customers aren’t as sensitive to shipping prices as expected: In tests where we offered lower or free shipping, conversions didn’t spike as dramatically as predicted. Instead, customers responded more to the feeling of earning rewards or incentives.
3. Customers often don’t switch shipping methods: Even when presented with better or more cost-effective shipping options during checkout, customers frequently stuck with the default method.
Hey, Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Avi, CEO & co-founder of PrettyDamnQuick.
Super excited to launch A/B Test Shopify's 3 vs 1 Page Checkouts.
This is a first-of-its-kind tool that splits your traffic, allowing half of your shoppers to experience either the traditional 3-page checkout or the newer 1-page checkout.
After working with over 200 Shopify brands and processing 15M checkouts per month, we noticed a trend: many stores were unsure if switching to the 1-page checkout was truly better for their conversions. While Shopify has reported an overall improvement of 21.8%, it wasn’t clear how that played out across different store types.
We also found Shopify was underreporting visitors to the one-page checkout, increasing the reported conversion rate, which they’re now fixing (but that’s another story).
We couldn’t stop wondering – so we built this A/B test to get to the bottom of it. 🔍
Trends we’ve noticed so far:
* 1-page checkout seems to perform best for returning customers who have their details saved, and it shines with lower AOV, quick purchases.
* 3-page checkout tends to win for higher AOV carts, especially with first-time customers.
The biggest takeaway? It varies from shop to shop. That’s why we’re rolling this tool out for wider use just in time for BFCM, so stores can make data-driven decisions instead of relying on hunches.
To use this tool, you’ll need a Shopify Plus store with 5K+ orders/month for accurate, fast results.
My co-founder @liran_erez and I will be here to chat and answer any questions about Shopify checkout A/B testing, segmentation, and even DTC fulfillment and delivery. We’d love your feedback and ideas to help us make this even better for Shopify merchants!
Thanks for checking us out, and feel free to ask us anything! 🙌

Lastly, if you have a Shopify store, how confident are you in your checkout’s performance from 1-10?
Awesome launch!
I've taken a few e-commerce trips in my life, and testing checkouts with real actionable insights using A/B is probably a must.
My brother just gained great volume with transactions so I'll update with his CRs and AOVs after testing this, Thanks guys ❤️
This is so damn important. Shopify defines the physics of our little Ecom universe and anything that helps us “bend the rules” so we can travel warp speed is game changing. Thanks PDQ team!!
