Just wanted to let folks know that @simplrdesign is *the best* listener and has no ego about products she designs. She will kill an idea she loves and move on based on feedback better than anyone I know (even though her designs and ideas are wonderful :D). So feel free to send her questions, thoughts, advice, whatever!
We're adding this a little late today because I didn't think we'd get it done in time, but kudos to my son who taught me how to use Final Cut Pro last night. 🎬

Primary takes unfiltered, raw product reviews buried deep in forums across the web, and brings them to shoppers in a free and easy-to-use browser extension.
Here’s why we're doing this: (1) Product reviews are unreliable, and (2) shoppers want to shop without being sold to.
Primary casually pops up in your browser (think Honey) with real reviews from enthusiasts who tell it like it is – the good, the bad, and the ugly. This helps shoppers make the best purchase decision, saving them time & money. ⏱️💰
Primary currently works on 225 categories on Amazon and eBay (mostly hard goods, i.e., not yet media or soft goods/apparel), and 300 additional retail sites.

Primary is a very pleasant to use extension that gives you the oportunity to get real user reviews from foruns and reddit users on specific music gear that you're planning to buy. From my perspective it helped a lot because frequently the gear isn't available to be tested in person, and having the oportunity to read these reviews is the next best thing after testing them for yourself, on my opinion. That said, of course you could just do your research manually, but in my experience using Primary saved me a lot of time and led me straight to useful data about what I was planning to buy, saving me some hours of googling and forum/reddit searching. In the end I already got a new guitar with Primary's help, and I'm very happy with it!
@liordino Wow, what a great story. Helping people make the best decision for themselves while saving time was a big part of our brainstorming at the beginning of this product. It's fun to see that realized!

@ahtimsir yeah, there's a lot of discussions online, and my personal opinion is that if one day we suffered for the lack of information, now we suffer for information overload, and not all information is good, so it's really nice to have something to help curate these things faster.
@kalinear Glad we could make your decision easy! Some of the best forum discussions I've read are people asking, "Should I get X or Y given my situation?", and the community chimes in with all sorts of relevant advice.
When I am shopping on Amazon, I love how Primary helps me find other product info and reviews across the web.

@nldodoo We couldn't completely remember who originally came up with the name (edit: I stand corrected, it was @simplrdesign !), but the idea behind it is going straight to primary sources (firsthand experiences) rather than all of the other noise on the internet (paid ads / paid reviews / ...). And it's easier to say than "Threadloom". :D

Great idea! Could it work for apps also? Like I am checking out, say, various SaaS solutions and it would load Reddit comments about it?
@marek_dudas SaaS solutions is an interesting use case. Our long-term vision is that it would work for anything that is subjective, and that is discussed in communities.
@_gh_ Hang tight, we're expanding our list of supported categories daily. It's a tricky problem because each category/interest presents a new challenge. We're constantly iterating to try and learn how users discuss different types of products.
