🚀 Introducing PrivateGPT - Your Offline Personal AI Assistant Hello, Product Hunters! 🐱 We're excited to introduce PrivateGPT, an innovative tool that leverages the power of language models for private, offline document interactions. Inspired by work of imartinez, PrivateGPT allows you to ask questions to your documents without an internet connection, using the power of LLMs (Large Language Models). The standout feature of PrivateGPT is that it's 100% private. No data leaves your execution environment at any point, meaning you can ingest documents and ask questions without an internet connection. 🌐 Offline Operations PrivateGPT operates without an internet connection. Whether you're offline by choice or due to circumstances, PrivateGPT ensures your work continues uninterrupted. 🔒 Privacy-centric Design PrivateGPT is built with privacy as a core principle. Your data doesn't leave your execution environment, providing you with a secure and private AI tool. 📚 Powerful Document Interactions Built with LangChain, GPT4All, LlamaCpp, Chroma, and SentenceTransformers, PrivateGPT allows you to ask questions and interact with your documents in a meaningfull way. 🛠️ Easy Setup To set up PrivateGPT, refer our GitHub page https://github.com/SamurAIGPT/pr... We're looking forward to your feedback as you explore PrivateGPT. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Hello all After release of Heybot, we have received a lot of requests from users regarding a privacy enabled way to talk to your documents. Having come across privateGPT, we have built a easy UI for anyone to chat with your documents without worrying about your data privacy Happy to know your feedback on the launch

Congrats @singh_ankur, on your launch of PrivateGPT. Is there any file size limitation for the documents?
Anil Matcha
@singh_ankur @andy_lim There is no limit

Sounds cool, but i dont know the last time i was offline or had no network, and i think people my age, whiche are also the target audience for ai products are never offline and it seems to be your main selling point. So thats absolutly no hate, just critic.
Anil Matcha
@jonassc Thanks for the feedback. This is targeted specifially for users who don't want to share their data

This is exactly what we need in our industry! The problem with ChatGPT and its APIs is undoubtedly security. Especially when we're building technology that manages and interacts with money. A private solution to building chatbots for our customers is exactly what we've been looking for. Absolutely incredible product, much eneded!

@yampolskymax Thanks a lot Max for the support

I see a trend of using popular github repos to juxtapose other repos by grabbing the same name. Odd to detract from the real and original privateGPt project.
André J
@peppereddirt There is also: https://www.privategpt.io which is another project. I think this space is moving so fast that naming overlap is bound to happen. In the end which ever becomes popular gets the name I suppose.
Marin Adendall
@eonpilot I agree it is bound to happen, though some people seem to directly attempt to ride the coattails. the real repo that started it https://github.com/imartinez/pri...

Great to see an offline version. Who are you targeting? Legal teams? I can’t wait to see what’s next. Congrats with the launch 🤘
Anil Matcha
@bartvandekooij Anyone who has private data and don't want to share with a 3rd party like OpenAI
This is an interesting twist on other similar products we've seen so far in the arena.. offline ops. Congrats on the Launch guys!🎊

Congrats on the launch 🚀. I think it's really crucial to have the LLM models operate locally, especially for those concerned about their security. PrivateGPT is promising in this direction and I'm looking for the further advancements!

This looks just amazing, one of the biggest problems with OpenAI is its connection where you give them all your data, which you can't with for example contracts and data under NDA. It seems amazing to me that we now can use this privately, because it for sure will help a lot in the above cases. Thank you for launching this! Massive!

Awesome! I have been looking for this for a while. At this moment, could it potentially look at your offline documents, such as a bunch of separated code files and understand how they interact?
Anil Matcha
@jaime_matos Yes, definitely. The underlying LLM has the ability to understand code
Ankur Singh
@jaime_matos Thanks for your support! Yes it can. It support different file formats.
