This is amazing! I was looking for a tool like that for a while. I had built my own accounting and financial system, but it was lacking the simulation part of it. Did some research and I saw that ProjectiFi had a lot of history in terms of asking for feedback and else, which I was quite impressed. I'm personally looking forward to see this personal finance tool grow and thrive. Congrats on the launch @knolan ! Wishing you all the best :)

@hugohamelcom Thanks Hugo! Really appreciate the feedback, and I look forward to continuing to evolve the tool. If you come up with any new feature requests as you play around with it more, feel free to reach out any time!

šŸ‘‹ Hey Product Hunters! My name is Kyle, and I'd like to introduce you to ProjectiFi. šŸ’” Earlier this year, I was having trouble finding a good planning and simulation tool for financial independence (FI) that could model things in enough detail to finally ditch my spreadsheets... so I decided to build one! https://projectifi.io/ šŸ”— With so many apps centered around linking/importing real financial accounts, I wanted to offer something different here -- you can think of ProjectiFi more like an advanced retirement calculator. You choose what data you'd like to enter to model your situation. You define initial conditions with high-level values, totals, and rates, build a model for what should happen over time, and explore the results of simulations based on that. šŸ“ˆ A few months ago I posted an early version to Show HN, and here's a quick preview of some of the new features inspired by feedback from that community: - Customizable Monte Carlo simulations and backtesting on historical data - Multiple data persistence options: cloud synchronization, localStorage only, or manual import/export - Stock/bond allocation curve over time - Ability to quickly switch between deterministic and probabilistic modes - Improved support for international use cases (currency + locale selector, custom options for financial goals) - Better support for married filing jointly - UI updates, redesigned landing page, and more If you feel like checking it out, I would love to hear what you think!
