PromoRepublic delivers content ideas based on holidays, historical dates, events and trends directly to your Buffer queue. Always know what to post with over 1500 post templates and 1000 content ideas. Relevant ideas and templates will be delivered to Buffer automatically and for free.
This is the logical next step in the marketing pipeline. While Buffer helps you schedule things, the next question is what to post, especially at scale. There's tremendous value here and PromoRepublic seems to understand this well.
Promo Republic is a great service, and the integration with Buffer is kickass. I feel like a "guru" using their templates, since my posts looks so professional and well designed.
@bentossell Hi Ben, and thanks for a good question! It is a curated content created by our content & design team. We collect and analyze all the holidays, events, hot trends and more, then prepare custom visual templates for each content idea and deliver it right to the Buffer queue. So basically you will not miss a holiday, special occasion or a hot trend, and will have an exact pre-made post for your content marketing needs.
@paul_shuteyev how many versions of similar content are there?
If your team is the one curating it then is there only one post for 'national cat day' or whatever? Or is there different ones to choose from in each 'category'?
@bentossell Usually we have from 1 to 3 different templates for each content idea (it could be anything from a holiday to a movie premier, or just a trend). And yes, we do have templates even for National Cat Day, though I like dogs more :)
@medvednikov yes we do have a full blown Calendar of Content Ideas! Buffer Integration in only the top part of the Iceberg called PromoRepublic.com :) check it out and share your feedback!
@medvednikov Sure, PromoRepublic is a core-product - Calendar of Content Ideas (with built-in scheduler, design editor and more), but we also pay attention to integrations. Buffer is just the beginning - will announce more of them soon!
As some/many of you may know, Buffer used to have their own Suggestions tool built in. However, they discontinued it and while it was frustrating at first, I definitely respected that decision. Personally, I found myself adding content suggestions to Buffer without ever reading them (for shame, I know). It just became a habit, and I felt like I was cheating. And if there was engagement/dialogue about the article, THEN I'd go back and read it. It just didn't feel right. Anyway, just some food for thought. I'm not saying these tools aren't useful. In working Social at ad agencies or anywhere really, it's absolutely helpful for content calendars. It was created to solve a need, I just hope it doesn't feed into the social sharing churn (all shares, no reading). Here's the article from Buffer regarding their decision to shut their suggestions tool down: https://open.buffer.com/retiring...
@krisryanwhite Hi Kris, and thanks for the comment! Before I discovered Buffer, I used Percolate, which also has a so called Brewery - the tool which suggests you trends. But the problem was it didn't provide you with the templates, with exact visual materials created professionally right for the trend/event. In our case we focus on professionally created content - these are mostly holidays, special occasions. So you don't need to think much about a holiday, but at the same time you have an awesome template created for that holiday.
This is awesome and so simple to set up! I think I'd like the ability to see all of the posts before I upload them to my buffer queue, and then select them individually. I just uploaded the first 10 and none of them were particularly relevant so I had to go through and delete them one by one from my queue.
@marsh931 Hi Alex, and thanks for your question! Post ideas are close to 100% relevant for US users, as we focus on one country at the moment, to provide the best quality.
Post ideas are based on holidays, special occasions, trends and more.
@valeriy_grabko Yeah I think that would be fine. You could still send an email saying that new posts were ready, link me to PromoRepublic and then I select the ones that I want to send to my buffer queue :)
Sorry to a bit negative but I just gave this a go and there are no options in terms of categories, regions so you get posts that are pretty irrelevant. For instance as I am in the UK, posting about the start of the NFL season is not going to resonate with many people or posting about gaming when my brand is all about getting people out of the house wont work either. So sadly the first thing I had to do was delete all of the posts that were added to my buffer queue.
Fundamentally I like the idea, there are loads of trends, events and general "newsjacking" that can work quite well as content and I don't want to spend time trying to find them but I think it needs a more developed way to actually choose what goes on to your feed and some genuinely high quality templates to choose from for each story/tweet.
@tomludus Hi Tom! Thanks for your detailed feedback! Yes, holidays and trends now only for the US. We pointed it on the page http://get.promorepublic.com/buf..., but I think it's not so obvious. In future we plan to add events for the UK.
@tomludus Thanks Tom! Indeed, we focus on US holidays, trends and special occasions. Instead of generating more common post ideas, we try to provide the best quality, even if it's just for one country at the moment. But you have our word, UK and CA are next!
@valeriy_grabko so it is! :-) I tend to try things out rather than read the site so that's my fault. Just to add to my earlier comments having thought about it for a while. I would really love something that would give me a list of potential content ideas several weeks in advance. That way I could either use the templates you provided or create my own and tie those events into all of my marketing.
I often find that I wake up, go on twitter and see something and think "I wish I had known about that because I would have done something" the underlying research required to predict all of these events rarely gets to the top of my to do list.
@tomludus exactly! it's really hard for marketer to monitor important dates for different industries and locations. Also you can find at http://promorepublic.com not only holiday templates, but templates for internal occasion - like quotes, promotions, announcements. You can use them for the UK locations too.
I'm sure this could help in a pinch although apparently I'm the only person that thinks you can't use an algorithm to create an authentic SM presence. At scale, I guess its a different story. As long as you don't turn into like Inc Mag where... does anyone even check what they're posting? Will definitely try this out though. Great work.
@evankimbrell Hi Evan, thanks for the comment! We definitely think that human specialist is the most important part of the chain, but we do our best to make this work easier with ideas and templates. We are not affiliated with Skynet :) Have a great day!
@julia_eremina Hi Julia, great question! It is totally free, indeed. We transfer post ideas (which is not only the idea itself, but an actual pre-made visual template) to Buffer queue automatically each Friday - so basically every Friday you receive a set of post ideas for the coming week. Totally free and totally automatically, and what's important - directly to your Buffer queue.
@nazarpanchyshyn Thanks, nice to hear that! Hope you like our ideas with pre-made templates, usually they get 75%+ more likes and shares. We love the engaging effect!
