Hey Product Hunters! Louis, cofounder of SparkLoop here 👋 Two years ago we launched Upscribe — the first newsletter recommendations network. And it has grown to become hands-down the easiest way to grow your newsletter for free. We've helped top newsletters like Morning Brew, James Clear, The Hustle and thousands more add over 10 MILLION (!) high quality, engaged new subscribers. But — if your newsletter's not quite as big and popular as Morning Brew or The Hustle (yet) — it can be super hard to find the right newsletters to partner up with. That's why we're launching Newsletter Radar today. In just a few clicks, you can: 1. See a list of all your audience's favorite newsletters (ranked by how many subscribers you have in common) 2. Discover thousands more newsletters that our algorithm thinks are relevant to your audience 3. And invite the ones you like best to partner up with you on free recommendations The result: In less than 15 minutes, ANY newsletter should be able to find at least 5-10 (but really more like 50+) perfect newsletter partners, and start growing 3-10x faster by recommending each other. One of my favorite things about Newsletter Radar (and Upscribe) is that it works with 25+ newsletter platforms (including beehiiv and ConvertKit). So you can discover 100% of the very best newsletters you should be partnering up with... not just the 0.5% who happen to use the same newsletter platform you do! Happy to answer any questions 🥳

@kjosephabraham tysm! I'm most excited to see people sharing their matches. So many people saying "wow, I didn't realise my newsletter had so much in common with newsletter X..."

@louisnicholls_ and his team are angels for Entrepreneurs. Their product is a gamechanger for those looking to grow their audience and brand and thus new product is just extension of the incredibly product they have already built! Plus, everyone who works there is always helpful and nice. Make sure you click around on the site too. Sometimes they post podcasts and other informative stuff that provides great strategic ideas. Matching with newsletters in your space will enhance your experience with their product even more because your opt-in rate increase a lot!

Hey @louisnicholls_! Newsletter Radar sounds incredibly useful for those of us trying to grow our subscriber base. Can you share more specifics about how the algorithm identifies relevant newsletters for partnerships? Also, are there any particular metrics or data points that it prioritizes to ensure a good match?
Louis Nicholls
@pierre_peng sure thing! So one of the biggest predictors is audience overlap: How many subscribers do you share in common with another newsletter? From there, we look at a lot of other factors like audience demographics and the topics you cover in your newsletter. As part of the onboarding, you actually tell us which of those demographics/topics is most likely to indicate someone is a good potential reader — and we customize the results based on your preferences. We keep updating the algorithm based on feedback and performance. I'm really excited to see how AI can help us in the near future.

I've really been impressed with Sparkloop and how their system works. This new tool that lets you see the actual size of audience in common is a game changer. Its a powerful feature that helps you focus your efforts on the audiences that matter most to you.

Hey Louis, I'm interested in how you ensure the quality of matches. Are there any metrics you use beyond shared subscribers? For niche newsletters, how well does the system work in finding relevant partners? Congrats on the launch!
Louis Nicholls
@kyrylosilin thanks for the question! shared subscribers is a really great indicator — especially for super niche newsletters. But we also look at stuff like audience demographics (gender, age, income), location, and topics/interests too.

@louisnicholls_ congrats on the launch. This something we will test soon as newsletter partnership is a channel we want to explore for our GTM

@louisnicholls_ Congratulations on the launch! I love the concept behind SparkLoop. I can definitely see the potential for AI to play a big role in analyzing content, tone, and audience demographics of newsletters to find complementary matches. Is that already a part of your algorithm? In any case wishing you the best of luck with SparkLoop!
Jessie
Wow... definitely gonna try it, I would say it's quite useful for me! lol

Matevž Mak
Great idea, @louisnicholls_! I’m subscribed to quite a few newsletters myself, and this seems like a fantastic solution. I’ll definitely check it out! Q: Do you offer a feature where someone can input the name of a newsletter they’re subscribed to, and get recommendations for similar newsletters with the same quality?
Louis Nicholls
@matevz_mak not yet, but we have something very similar launching soon!
A. Skinner
This looks like an amazing tool for newsletter creators.@louisnicholls_ Does it also provide insights or analytics on which collaborations are driving the most engagement?

Love how easy it is to see a ranked list of newsletters that share your audience. It’s like having a personal matchmaking service for newsletters! Imagine quickly spotting your next perfect partner and sending an invitation with just a few clicks. Can't wait to try it out and see how it can help my newsletter grow. Keep up the amazing work!
Derek
This looks amazing 😻 and that’s a great demo video 🎥 After inbound traffic, the #1 growth channel for my newsletters has been cross promotion between them. Driving traffic to your sites and then cross promoting with newsletters helps create a flywheel.
Louis Nicholls
@derkolstad that's awesome to hear and thanks for the kind words!
Anastasiia Kirzhanova
Amazing work! How does the platform handle new and emerging newsletters that might not have as much data?
Louis Nicholls
@kirzhanova thanks so much! For newer newsletters our algorithm goes off topics and self-reported audinence profiles. Not quite as accurate, but still very useful!
