Loved it until I saw the price.

@shahab_21 Idea is super. But the price tag is a joke, 250 $ for a cardboard desk. Can someone in china please copy them and send me one for 50-100 $ thanks👏
Kirill Zubovsky
@shahab_21 It's pricey, but it's still about 1/2 the price of a "decent" standing desk and about 4x cheaper than a good standing desk. So for all practical purposes - to try standing, to get tired of like most people do, and to go back to sitting within two month, this is a great alternative. Oh, and no need to spend an hour to assemble like you would on most inexpensive ones, or maybe even two days that you would spend on building your own from ikea furniture. Price is always relative.

@shahab_21 Yeah, it's a bit much. You can get a decent drafting table (essentially a standing desk) for half that price that's not made out of cardboard: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product...

@eddie @shahab_21 The price has certainly gone up a little bit since Kickstarter ($160NZD) I think perhaps part of the added value proposition is that it's light and portable... but in reality, if that's not important to you then it becomes an expensive piece of cardboard. Also being made out of high quality, recycled cardboard surely brings the price up

Solution: Sell a stencil instead, and let us use regular moving boxes.

This would be a cool temporary situation for my new flat seeing as there is no furniture in it... I do think the price-point is pretty steep for what it is... Maybe I'll build one myself from empty beer crates 🍻
Lynn Fredricks
Yes, this looks like something that should be $49 at Costco, Staples or Office Depot. I could see this also being a good solution for a pop up table for public events.
Jerry Becker
I like the concept, but also agree on the price point comments above. This needs to be a sub-$100 product
Daniel Burke
@beckerjs Exactly. I mean, for $100 I'd buy two. Right now.

@gyanprayaga Where are you seeing $106 USD? This is what it's quoting me:
Benjamin Milsom
Neat idea. How much does it cost?
Adam Owen
@mil5om seems to start from $250 for orders outside of Australia/New Zealand. I'd rather invest in an Ikea standing desk personally, though the quality does look good.
Jason Dainter
@adamowenit @mil5om totally agree, ikea standing desk way better value.
Neil Chudleigh
@jasondainter @mil5om I have mounted this (http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalo...) on my wall at standing height- can't beat that price!
Andy P
Just set a cardboard box on top of your regular desk. That costs $0.
Jack Smith
Very expensive, but I'm guessing that their shipping fees from New Zealand would be quite a lot
Jack Smith
@rometty_ @_jacksmith I'm guessing that's where they live :)
jack rometty
@_jacksmith Is it really that common to manufacture where you start? I always thought economics decided manufacture location.

Concept is pretty cool. I can surely envision more of the furniture like this however at these price points, it just becomes a novelty .

Wow! Such an awesome idea... but the price point? Ouch :(
Will Feldman
Yes, this is great. I loved it and was going to buy one. But $250 is crazy. I would maybe pay $35 or so! It's sad because I was going to buy one. :(

You are not disrupting the standing Desk market, Ikea's standing desk is probably cheaper than this. the portability of it is great idea but I am sure it takes its toll on the life time of the cardboard material.

Pros:

Idea is good

Cons:

PRICE!

Enrico Icardi
Love it...yeah. Maybe too expensive.
Andrew Colclough
Absurd pricing. Especially when a varidesk will only drain you another 100 bones: http://www.varidesk.com/standing...

I really like cardboard furniture. And cardboard in general, it is like foldable wood in some cases. Very cool.
Michal Ptacek
Great product, but seriously, $250 is way too much :/
Jaime Macias
+1 for Flatpack and self-packing. This is also probably the lightest material that is sturdy enough to do this. It is recyclable when done. Really the only problem I see is the price. Trying to look a the pros. Definitely interesting.

The person who would buy this is insane in my book as for 200 more he can get a electronic standing desk from Ikea. The manufacturer definitely need to streamline how they produce this thing. It should be 50 bucks at the most.
Alex Saunders
Same I would have totally bought one for 50$! - anyone interested in looking for chinese manufacturers? xD
