Looks really interesting, congrats! I'm looking forward to trying it out. Might want to check your install button, did not launch the AppStore install for me.
@igamebank Ok! Well it should have been working but we did see a few glitches with the tracking link we were using on the install button, so we removed that just in case. If you haven't already, please go ahead and try again!
@erimag thanks for checking, Eric. Could just be something with my phone, but still doesn't open, weird. I have installed the product though and wish you good success!
@livejamie - Thanks for the question! We’re the only app that really ties together (and visualizes) the tradeoff between spending and saving. We also let you take action immediately. Our app is also different because we’re rule-based, goal-based financial management with an FDIC-backed account where you earn interest.
@kkdub Hi Kelly, It's not 0%, but 0.10%, which is pretty much in line with what a lot of savings accounts offer right now. The Qapital account is actually a DDA account (if you wanna get technical), which is why you can move your money as often as you want, but still earn some interest. Hope that clears things up! https://www.qapital.com/how-it-w...
@bradenhamm hi Braden! You can use Qapital with your credit union as a funding account as long as it has a regular routing & account no. This lets you set up goals and do manual & periodic saves. If you also have a credit card at one of the 5 major banks we have full support for, or Amex, you can connect that card as your transaction trigger for savings rules. We are working on adding full support for credit unions also in the latter use case. Hope that answers your question and thanks for your interest!
Hi Product Hunters!
Qapital uses gamified, automatic savings that let you set aside small amounts of money regularly. Set goals, then create rules and triggers based on your daily activities that help you get better at money, your way. Round up your change, ‘fine’ yourself when you buy something you’re trying to cut back on, or use our joint goals to save with friends.
To use Qapital, you need an iPhone and a US bank account as a funding source. If you have your primary debit/credit card at one of the 5 major banks (Bank of America, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, US Bank) or American Express, you can use the full range of features.
We’d love to hear what you think about the experience, especially when it comes to onboarding, from download through to connecting a funding account.
If you download the app coming from PH, we have a special thank you for Product Hunters who sign up for Qapital!
I really like the option to fine yourself when you overspend on things you know you really don't need & shouldn't purchase.
I've loved Digit so far, but my only quip with it was that when I was traveling for work and spending more $ than I normally do, it was pulling out WAY too much into my Digit savings. I like that Qapital allows you to define more of the "how much and how often" than Digit.
Going to sign up :)
@stttories
Thanks, Tori! We think Digit is great, too, but we definitely provide a different kind of service, where you get to improve your own habits. We have some more pretty awesome stuff coming soon, too. Looking forward to having you!
@diserkin I've used both, I agree Digit is simple and if that's what you want I think stick with it, but Qapital is also DEAD simple once set up (took ~ 5 mins total for me) and then it's as simple. Plus, and more importantly, it's connected to goals I actually care about and have relevance to my life which I like.
I also use it for balance / transaction monitoring - I never open the Wells Fargo app anymore. It's a big more than meets the eye actually.
@diserkin - Thanks your feedback! And thanks for your input @tommyrva!
I wouldn’t call our workflow more complicated, just different. We’re focused specifically on rule-based, gamified saving based on specific goals a user wants to achieve. Then we help them align their spending habits with those goals. As a result, it requires a slightly different approach to set it all that up. Happy to help or clarify through our in-app chat feature! -Christine
@cattrestini Thanks, Catherine! We like it, too. And Simple is a real inspiration as a banking service. The handy thing about us, though, is that you don't have to change your primary bank, which means you can actually attach your Simple account as a funding source for Qapital, and that could give you the best of both worlds.
