Clearly has been one of my favorite tools since it launched. I use more Chrome extensions than most people I know but only a handful are critical to my workflow and get installed on every machine and profile I use. Clearly is one of those critical extensions. Long forgotten and disorganized bookmarks have found new light and new life since I began using Clearly. Together with Workona and TabSnooze I have a perfect system for working in the browser. I am looking forward to watching Clearly develop but I'm not sure it needs any improvement from today.

Pros:

Fast, beautiful design, intuitive, easy to use, reliable

Cons:

None to this point

Henry Arguedas
I think it's changed my work habits and caused me to be a bit more organized. I'm curious how you use it with Workona. When you have a new tab, which extension controls it? I'm only now installing Workona but don't see how I used them together yet. Thanks!
Mary Barba
@just_s Thank you SO MUCH for mentioning Workona and Tab Snooze! I looked them up and they are changing everything. W O W ! :D I am curious though, why do you use Qlearly if you have Workona?
Liam McKay
Really looking forward to giving this a try. I'm so set in my ways at the moment and know I need something better β€” this is definitely my next step to handle my bookmarks! Couple of interesting features in there that I hadn't noticed previously, i.e. Public boards and team boards that I can see being very useful too. Fantastic work on this! πŸ‘
Guillaume Bardet
@liammckay Thank you for your feedback Liam, I really appreciate it. I am glad you noticed the public boards, it is honestly one of my favorite features :) Let me know if you ever make a public board of certain data, I'd be happy to share it.

I can see this working well with History Search and Pocket.

Pros:

Works in Firefox! Great way to organize my 263 tabs that I have open.

Cons:

Don't take over my "New Tab" screen. Adjustable column widths. Improve "Current Tabs" drag-n-drop.

Rick Dronkers

Makes it really easy to switch "work modes", for instance I can open all relevant tabs that I use when doing my administration. Or all tabs I do when I'm communication. Or all tabs related to my work (data analysis).

Pros:

Makes it really easy to switch "work modes"

Cons:

None so far

Adam Bardoň
Congrats on the launch! Looks very clean πŸ‘Œ Love the night mode!
Guillaume Bardet
@bardonadam I am glad you liked the design and the night mode Adam! Thank you for your support. πŸ™Œ

How is this different from or better than Toby? Not saying it's not different/better. Just curious on the vision / differentiation.
Guillaume Bardet
@haoyangnz That's a good question! I was a toby user a while back, unfortunately, I found the organization process to be interesting but mainly for the short them. The links you saved quickly got lost below other collections. I believe the columns/boards is a better long term solution. The new tab loads about 2-3x faster which is surprising. You can also create tasks, bulk import links, create public boards/columns etc. I hope this clarifies it a bit, let me know if you have any other questions!
Haoyang Feng
@guillaumebardet OK. I don't fully understand. In terms of the collections getting lost below other collections - isn't it just a matter of horizontal collections vs vertical collections? At the end it's still restricted by the screen real estate? (Not trying to be annoying πŸ˜…- just curious about the thinking at a product level.) Of course the other stuff you mentioned are helpful but I guess they're mainly incremental differences, not a 10x experience - so was wondering if the vision contained some fundamental change.
Guillaume Bardet
@haoyangnz Sorry about the delay Haoyang, agreed, sorry I was mainly comparing it to Toby as that was the specific question. Our main plan is to connect the column with certain data. Here's a screenshot of an example for the RSS Feeds / APIs. It isn't final just yet but we would like to do something similar with other platforms like Tasks managers, File systems, Payment systems etc. We also plan to start to work on a mobile & tablet version which has been requested quite a bit. :)
Haoyang Feng
@guillaumebardet I see. To be honest, I'm not sure if the RSS feeds etc really helps. It creates a single extension that tackles potentially aggregator/tab mgmt/todo which means consumers can use 1 single new tab extension, but it also takes away from the usability of a tab manager. I think to begin with maybe just build a good tab manager first, which doesn't yet exist yet on the market, which would differentiate yourself and gain traction before branching out and building a jack-of-all-trades. Just my 2c. If you'd like to discuss more I'm open to having a chat. Quite interested in the space πŸ˜‰

Awesome product. Makes life much easier for me, but I'm also a Kanban fanatic ;)
Guillaume Bardet
@maltissimo11 Haha thank you for using Qlearly, I am glad you like it so far! :)

Takes all the good things that Toby for Chrome was doing and improves upon them. The Trello-like UI allows for easy drag-and-drop organising making it way easier to collect your bookmarks for different projects and purposes. Its still early days, and so there are still a couple kinks in the armour; the UI for adding bookmarks could be improved, avoiding duplicates isn't obvious and importing/exporting bookmarks seems too much of a manual process. But so far I'm very impressed with the speed and ease of this fine browser extension β€” Two thumbs up! *There is a workaround for this β€” see Guillaume's post for more.

Pros:

(+) Easily organise your bookmarks on different boards and swap between them fast! Great for people with multiple projects.

Cons:

(-) Can't add bookmarks to new columns on-the-fly (-) No 'Toby Mini' version yet for users who don't always bookmarks appearing in new tabs*

Hans Desjarlais
Hey Guillaume, nicely done. The on-boarding experience is great and super easy. Love the design. This is great for someone with a ton of bookmarks. Going to continue playing around with it.
Guillaume Bardet

Hello Product Hunters πŸ‘‹ First off, a big thank you to @chrismessina for hunting Qlearly. Qlearly is a modern bookmark and tabs manager. It allows you to organize your favorite websites using boards and columns. As someone that has been working online for almost a decade now, in some ways, I have been trying to solve a problem I noticed many times and believe others have or eventually will encounter. Here are some of the main features: πŸ’» Sync with multiple devices. πŸ” Search through your bookmarks. ⏰ Quickly save or open tabs in bulk. πŸ’Ό Share boards with team members. πŸ‘₯ Create public boards or columns. (Example of a public board and a public column). 🚨Quick note: Qlearly will replace your new tab! However, we do have a workaround. Here is how to turn this off. Here is a few links you might find helpful: Our Help Center. Getting Started Guide. All the ways to save tabs on Qlearly. For anyone interested, this article will show you the design progression of our extension. I will be here all day to answer any questions you might have, so ask away! 🍻
Clarence Wee
@guillaumebardet Wait, how do you turn off the new tab function?
Guillaume Bardet
@clarencewee Thank you for getting involved and giving it a try Clarence. Here is how to turn this off. Unfortunately, Chrome doesn't allow it to be a feature for now. Hopefully, this will change in the future!
Guillaume Bardet
@nextstevejob I am glad you think so Okii, thank you for getting involved with the launch today!

If you have lots of bookmarks, then try Qlearly. Love the improvement since the last time I used it. Good job, Guillaume πŸ‘
Guillaume Bardet
@deadcoder0904 Thank you very much for the kind words, Akshay! I am glad you like the improvements we've made so far :)
Artur Maklyarevsky
Looks promising. Congrats on the hard work! 1 - Suggested GrowthHack { import Evernote accounts } 2 - Branding suggestion: redesign the logo into something that resonates "bookmarks" ( a few ideas: https://www.google.com/search?q=... )
Guillaume Bardet
@arturmakly Thank you very much for your suggestions, Artur. Those are two very good ones! 1 - Indeed, that is something we are hoping to do next. Including Pocket as well but Evernote is a very good call, thank you! 2 - That's a very valid point. I am honestly not the happiest with the current branding. I opened the link you sent, that seems like a very good idea. We definitely should look further into that in the near future. Thank you again! :)
Patrick
@arturmakly @guillaumebardet 1 – And Instapaper and Trello?
Guillaume Bardet
@arturmakly @fivedesign Hello Patrick, sorry about the delay! These are in our list as well :)
