๐Ÿ‘‹ Hello awesome, Product Hunt community! I am beyond excited to show you what we've built! Last year we launched a way to "Turn your Slack into a Knowledge Base with Generative AI" and it became Product of the Day ๐ŸŽ‰: People loved the promise of AI to do our busy work of sifting through conversations and digging out know-how. We saw two major problems with applying AI to solve this problem - How to connect people to reliable information at work? - ๐Ÿ”ฎ AI Hallucinations - You feed AI all your company's docs & chat history, it will make up 100% believable and 50% reliable answers ๐Ÿ˜† - ๐Ÿ›‘ Existing habits - People are tired of new tools & new ways of doing things, even if they promise to make them 10x better. The best thing about AI is that we can finally built UX for the flawed ways humans work instead of trying to force them into a new way. So super excited to release Question Base today! ๐Ÿฅณ Your team does what they always do - chat and help each other out, and we add an *intelligence layer* on top of it that extracts and organizes the know-how automatically. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿคฉ 1๏ธโƒฃ The AI smart captures know-how from the conversations and documents it. 2๏ธโƒฃ Experts on the team verify it. 3๏ธโƒฃ Next time someone has a question it knows the answer to, it replies INSTANTLY. It's 100% accurate information in seconds. โœ… We've been in BETA for the past year, building out the product with design partners. Now we are releasing it to everyone! Please, put it to the test and share your feedback! THANK YOU so much ๐Ÿ™ PS. Great use case: ๐Ÿ“ž Support & Sales teams asking #product questions

@mrakashsharma Thank you, Akash! Really appreciated the article we did last year and your thoughtful end of the year personal note!
Christine Orchard
@yanatornoe love this, especially for remote teams like ours. I imagine using this to answer recurring marketing questions within the team.
Yana Tornoe
@max_savonin1 thank you so much for the kind words and support! ๐Ÿ˜Š Great that you find Question Base valuable. To your questions: 1. Yes, the AI learns your company's terms. We are SOC2 compliant and comply with high industry standards to ensure the security of companies' information. 2. For now we focus on Slack as out of the box solution but we do custom import of docs & data if companies need it. Let me know if you have more questions :)
Joseph Abraham
@yanatornoe Big shoutout for your launch! ๐Ÿš€ Wishing you endless success and new opportunities. Whatโ€™s your vision for the future of this product?
Yana Tornoe
@kjosephabraham Thank you for the support! Our vision is to accelerate the collaboration between AI and humans at work to solve complex problems. Thereโ€™s a revolution in the way we work. We imagine this new era of work will require: - More collaboration between humans and AI - More remote and async work - More transactional and per-project relationships To make this feasible, companies need a database of high-quality information that employees, contractors, and AI agents can access in order to learn, get up-to-date answers, and take action on their work. Question Base is building the infrastructure for that. We are creating a database of clean and curated company information that is optimized for the use of LLMs. Our mission is to** give every employee an instant trustworthy answer to their questions at work.

Yana Tornoe
@tornoe @stefan_vladimirov @daniel_ortiz7 @jurajpal YES YES YES ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿš€ We are going to help so many companies utilize AI to free people of tedious work! Thank you, Juraj! You're a big support for us!
Stefan Vladimirov
So glad to have you on our side @jurajpal ! Thank you for your support ๐Ÿ‘
Tony Han
This is sick, especially how you can update the answer to a question by simply replying in slack! This is a pretty cool way of solving the tough problem of knowledge base being hard to maintain. Congrats @yanatornoe and team!
Yana Tornoe
@tonyhanded Thank you for the support, Tony! I used to be a Product Manager like you, getting constant product questions from the customer facing team and spending my days, trying to unblock people. We use the AI to auto-detect work questions in the chat so employee have a ZERO change in their current behavior. They ask as they usually do, but now the AI detects it and answers Instantly. It feels like magic when you try it. Let me know if you and your team need any help in getting started :)
Filip Stanev
Congrats on the launch! Can't wait to try it out in our Slack!
Yana Tornoe
@fstanev Thank, Filip! With your mad UX skills, I'm sure you'd have great feedback to share. Looking forward to! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
Chris Traganos

Stefan Vladimirov
Thank you for the support @ctraganos !
Yana Tornoe
@ctraganos Thank you, Chris! Wow we've been on a journey for these past 10 years! There's so much potential to reclaim people's time from busy work. Really happy to have you onboard!
Francesco D'Alessio

Yana Tornoe
@francescod_ales Thank you for the support today, Francesco! And the one since 2015! I found the first emails we've had around Swipes :)
Stefan Vladimirov
@francescod_ales Thank you for the support! You are the best Francesco!
Esteban Dalel Rueda
Ah, worked on something similar, the problem exists in every company.
Yana Tornoe
@estebandalelr Thank you! Let's connect. Curious to hear your learning. It's such a massive hairy problem to solve :)
Stefan Vladimirov
Hello dear Product Hunters ๐Ÿ‘‹ I am so excited about today's launch. Can you tell? This update comes after a year of talking with customers and iterating on feedback. Personally, I had loads of insightful conversations with Product Managers, Operators, Founders, Sales Enablement, and Support. And there was one recurring theme โ€” people keep asking questions in Slack. In the words of one Product Manager, "Slack has become a nightmare." I felt for him. The pain was painted all across his face. Even teams that had robust documentation and had implemented AI enterprise search still faced the same problem. The problem is that: Adoption: People don't go to the new place. It's easier to ask. Hallucinations: AI-generated answers come up with stuff. In a recent conversation with a business owner of a pet insurance company in Australia, I learned that they tried one of the popular AI support assistants, but it was producing unreliable results, which made it a liability. We knew that the only way we could solve this is by: A. Instant adoption: Delivering answers right where people ask them (in Slack). B. Verifying content: Company experts would have the final say on the AI-generated answers. Basically, the AI does the heavy lifting, and the experts on the team just supervise it. I am so proud of the team for coming this far. The product is deceptively simple, and we put a lot of care into keeping it this way. Because at the end of the day, we believe that there are more important things in your day than documenting and answering questions. I sincerely hope this product will help great teams do more meaningful work.
Mitko Ivanov
Excited to see the second version already launched. I had great impressions from the first one!
Yana Tornoe
@mitko_ivanov1 Thank you! Yes, you were one of the very first people to try it. Tons of improvements in this update. Excited to power up your team again :)
Alex Sumin
Neat! Few things are as disruptive and annoying as having to answer and explain the same thing over and over again.
Yana Tornoe
@alexander_sumin Totally! Interruptions suck. Especially when you work remotely. AI has a lot to offer in solving some of the issues. Thanks for chiming in, Alex!
Stefan Vladimirov
@alexander_sumin like e.g. "where can I find alt milk in the office?"
Alex Naydenov
Amazing team and a true pain they are solving! Good luck and see you in slack <3
Yana Tornoe
@alex_naydenov yay yay yay! Thanks, Alex! Looking forward to helping your team in the growth journey!

We used Question Base at Roger when we were rapidly scaling the org post-acquisition. Our PMs, and all โ€œoldโ€ Roger team members, were swamped with product questions from new hires and the broader new organization. QB became a game-changer for us, even in its early days, so I'm super excited to see the official launch today!
Stefan Vladimirov
@cathrine_andersen working alongside your team at Roger team was pivotal. Observing how sales asked questions to the Product Managers shaped the core UX of the product. It helped us realize the first most important learning โ†’ people will not change their habit. This meant that the answers needed to be surfaced directly into the Slack conversation.
Yana Tornoe
@cathrine_andersen @stefan_vladimirov I absolutely second what Stefan said! We learned so much from the Roger use case. The team pushed us to focus on Slack vs. a new destination for asking & answering questions. Which forced us to start working with AI. It was the beginning of it all โค๏ธโค๏ธ
Stefans Keiss
How does Question Base ensure the information verified by team experts stays up-to-date? Also, can the AI handle queries from multiple Slack channels simultaneously?
Yana Tornoe
@memphys_sk Great questions, Stefans! 1. The AI is really good at detecting duplicates so when a similar answer comes up - it surfaces the previous answers and asks the experts to edit it to the latest content. 2. Yes, it works in multiple channels. That's the beauty of AI -never gets tired. :D You can also DM with it. Let me know what your specific use case is and we can work with it. It's pretty flexible! :)
Esben Friis-Jensen

At my first company Cobalt we had multiple channels in Slack to answer questions in a centralized way to avoid DMs to key personel, but even with those channels, the burden was still on a few individuals to constantly answer recurring questions. Often these individuals were the best in the company, so it was not a valuable use of their time. QuestionBase solves this problem by automating questions on slack. So for me it was a no brainer to invest in them.
Stefan Vladimirov
We are so fortunate to learn from you @esben_friis_jensen1 ! Thank you for being part of our journey!
Yana Tornoe
@esben_friis_jensen1 Spot on use case and example of how growing companies slow down! AI can really do some magic here! Thank you for the support!
Andreas Sohns
The idea of an AI layer that captures and organizes know-how form chats is brilliant. It's going to save so much time and effort.
Yana Tornoe
@andreas_sohns Thanks for the support, Andreas! Exactly! It's a zero-effort documentation. It's the human know-how, captured and organized by AI for the benefit of the human again.
Isabel Rodriguez
Congrats on the launch to this amazing team ๐Ÿš€ this is such a game changer for enterprise and startups alike
Yana Tornoe
@isabel_rodriguez2 Thank you, Izzy! Looking forward to our next meetup!
Fernando Corral
Who does not suffer from looking answers for the same questions! It would be ideal to be able to have the option to go to the source of the answers in case someone feels the need to to a couple of first validations before fully trusting the product @yanatornoe
Yana Tornoe
@fernando_corral Thanks, Fernando! Do you mean attributing where the initial answer was captured? Like showing the initial thread where an expert saved it?
Kyrylo Silin
Automating repetitive Slack queries could definitely boost productivity. Do you have features for continuously improving the automated responses over time? Congrats on the launch!
Stefan Vladimirov
Hey @kyrylosilin ๐Ÿ‘‹. Thank you for your support. Yes the rating feature helps improve the quality of the answers delivered over time.
Yana Tornoe
@kyrylosilin great question! We are releasing updates to the AI every few days and continuously make it better in detecting questions that need an answer in the chat and then also matching them to good answers.
