Quitly is a simple and intuitive app that helps you track and log your sober day streaks, whether you’re quitting smoking, counting days without alcohol, or counting time since any meaningful event.
I've always been curious about my routines, like how long it’s been since I last had a drink, my average streak without junk food, or how many times I’ve had sweets this month so I decided to build Quitly.
Seeing a live counter tracking my streak of sober days helps me stay on track, avoid slipping back into bad habits, and keep pushing my streaks even further.
What strategies do you use to break bad habits? And what’s been your biggest challenge? I’d love to hear your thoughts and insights!
Totally support anyone finding their path to a more rewarding sober life. been sober 9~ years with "Rational Recovery"
Playing devil's advocate; does counting the days remind you of "not drinking" so often that you might think of it more than if you didn't track the days?
I'm curious how different people think about this. Like for me I had to stop going to AA meetings because everyone talks about drinking so much that they seem preoccupied by it. I didn't want that so I found Rational Recovery.
@terrence_kelleman 9 years is an incredible achievement! Congrats!
I’ve been sugar-free for two years now. Cutting back has helped me lose weight and reduce dopamine spikes, though the first month was definitely the hardest in terms of avoiding old it. That challenge was actually one of my inspirations for creating this app!
You raise a great point! I’ve considered adding notifications to mark milestones like 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, etc., but I was also concerned that reminders might be too intrusive and even create unwanted temptation. What do you think? Would you find a feature like that helpful, or would it be better to let users choose whether they want notifications or note?
Personally, with my sugar habit, thinking about my streak each day was tempting, but it also motivated me to keep going and not to fail!
@hollycene erase such a great point that the early days are the ones we count as successes and then ideally we want to find new patterns of behavior to free us from those past habits.
I've heard many different opinions on when new habits form from 30 to 90 days and I imagine it's different for each type of addiction you're trying to break free from but eventually there should be a scaling back so that self reliance can form.
Grats on the launch!
I track these things with Notion but a separate good-looking app with extended stats is definitely better to cover such important areas of one’s life
@dimoire Thank you, glad to hear that!
Yes, that’s exactly why I wanted to create this app! Watching the real-time count of seconds and tracking my streaks really motivates me to stay on track. I also wanted to see my average streak between resets for more insight into my routines.
Feel free to share any ideas for new features or improvements! I’d love your input! Thanks for the feedback!
I installed it and liked it, I hope my productivity improves with the help of Quitly. Congratulations on the launch.
Notion + Quitly = Productivity doubled
@joaquimchuquela I’m glad to hear that, Joaquim!
Thank you for giving it a try. I also use it daily to track my streaks of clean days for my own habits, alongside other apps like Obsidian and Apple Reminders.
Feel free to reach out with any suggestions for new features, improvements, or anything you feel is missing. Thanks again for the feedback! Enjoy the app!
@alex_tartach Thank you, Alex!
Yeah, I created it primarily to gain motivation and insights. How I’m doing with breaking bad routines, whether my streaks are getting longer or shorter, and so on. It also helps me stay motivated by visually tracking my sober days in real-time.
I also included a few template counters to help users get started when they’re unsure where to begin. Feel free to share any ideas for new features or improvements!
@maxcompe For sure it does!
You can even reset your counter each time you slip up, and track patterns and the average length of your streaks between resets.
You can also set titles, custom start dates, colors, and add notes for each counter. Feel free to give it a try!
Congrats on the launch! 🎉 I love the simple, user-friendly design. I'm curious, what inspired you to create Quitly? Looking forward to giving it a try!
@ihuzaifashoukat Thank you, Huzaifa!
I've always been curious about my routines and wanted a way to track my sober-day streaks. I especially wanted to be able to reset the counter when I slip up to get more insight into my habits. So, I decided to create Quitly for daily use!
Feel free to give it a try, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any suggestions for new features, improvements, or anything you think might be missing. Enjoy!
Congrats on the launch, @hollycene! Quitly looks like a meaningful app for anyone tracking personal milestones. Excited to see how it helps people stay motivated!
