@johnzettler 'once it's sold out, it's gone.' How is this true when anybody can go to the site right now and download all the images they want? Also people who have purchased their digital arts can freely share copies with their friends and family?

Our view is that authenticity & value rests in the Certificate of Authenticity, which is a limited-edition token on the Ethereum blockchain. For an artwork with an edition of 10, there are only 10 tokens. If you buy the artwork; you hold this token.
The token is also a legal "right." It's a right to use & post the artwork for any non-commercial purpose (i.e. screenprint it, print on a shirt/tote bag, post on social media or a personal site).
And importantly, we're doing all we can at R.A.R.E Art to bring value to that "right"! Showing off the artwork in high-res on your TV with Chromecast, an HDMI cord, or through the RARE Art Apple TV app (coming very soon) - these are examples.
Our vision for the future includes platforms that check to see that you hold this "right" before showing the media. True today for Apple TV, and we envision an extension into 3-Dimensional AR/VR...where you can bring your digital art with you everywhere! 👽
I'm super excited about the launch! I've obviously been following this since the beginning and it's amazing how far it's come, from being able to purchase without crypto to displaying on TVs via Chromecast.
@tommyrva and we've appreciated all your support since the beginning! It doesn't seem that long ago since the inaugural Rare Digital Art Festival in January 2018, when all this got started!

Hey y'all! I've spent the last 15 months working directly with artists, photographers, & creators on R.A.R.E & one thing is abundantly clear - artists deserve more. The barriers to become a full-time artist on the internet are still enormous.
Technology has made the middle-man obsolete. Creators can go directly to their audience for patronage, support, and meaningful impact. Think Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, etc...
Why did this wave leave artists behind?
Time to change that.

AYOO I'm Kevin, I'm responsible for artists relations and all things branding and marketing at RARE Art
I’ve had a lot of fun and really expanded outsize my comfort zone working on this project and it’s pretty amazing to have formed all these new relationships and experiences with amazing artists and creatives around the world because of it!
This project means a lot to me because as a tech nerd futurist, it’s a super neat idea that makes perfect use of the blockchain and as a creative, it's something new that can directly improve the lives of creative individuals.
I've experienced how hard it is to sustain a living making things you want to create, even if its work that people really enjoy. To be able to assign value to your digital work and know that it's authentic and easily purchased is major!

@m0hd95 when you buy an artwork, we also email you a high-resolution digital download as well! As long as you own the certificate of authenticity for the work (i.e. you don't resell it), then you have full right to use that image for your own printing, framing etc.!
One of the joys of working on RARE (other then working with the great team) has been the discovery of such amazing art and artists and the gaining of a deep appreciation for the amount of time, effort, and creativity that goes in to the creation of their works. It's also unlocked in me a desire to pursue my own art that had been dormant for many years. Trying to build a market for digital art where none has existed before has been immensely challenging, but what keeps me motivated is that I believe it will also be extremely transformative - and being able to share it with everyone today also reminds me that it can be remarkably rewarding

This product has come a long way and impressively feels much more intuitive to use than a lot of blockchain projects out there. As someone who spends a lot of their time watching music videos, listening to music, or scrolling through art on Instagram, I’m excited to see what exclusive works artists put on the marketplace I can enjoy on my laptop or TV.
