Hey ProductHunt, This is an exciting moment for me and all our team to get RainViewer 2 featured on Product Hunt! I’m thrilled to present RainViewer 2, the most major update! This version got a completely new design, which makes RainViewer look particularly stunning on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android devices. Here's what we've added to RainViewer 2 to make it a complete weather app: * Future radar animation for 1000+ weather radars in original resolution for the next 90 minutes, so you can plan your day ahead. In addition to a weather radar map that allows you to review precipitation animation for the past 48 hours. * Next-hour precipitation chart shows the intensity of precipitation over the next hour in your area, available for more than 90 countries. Which makes RainViewer one step ahead of iOS14 Weather app that provides precipitation chart for the US only. * Favourite location and hyperlocal forecast for the current location make it super easy to monitor weather conditions at different places, like your home, office or travel destination. * Rain alerts of upcoming rain for any favourite location. You can set alerts when the rain is predicted as well as in-radius, once a rain hits a specific location. * Weather forecast: hourly for the next 48 hours and 14-day forecast on a beautifully streamlined chart. Available for 90 countries, RainViewer provides the most accurate forecast based on data from 1000+ doppler radars. RainViewer is a free application with the in-app Premium Features, that can be purchased for $1.99/mo or $9.99/year. There’s also an OFFER that will be valid for the whole of July 2020. A special introductory price as a 30% discount for the new RainViewer 2 release: $1.99/mo or $9.99/year. I really hope you will enjoy the long-awaited RainViewer 2 and get a great experience. Thank you and looking forward to your feedback in comments!

I bought the previous version (which makes me wonder why should I now pay again and even get into another subscription…) and I like the redesign but the app has always had this 1 problem with alerts. I always have them on, with location set to always (iOS) and background refresh and I’m notified about the incoming rain only 1 in 20 times maybe. Please fix this if you want to charge people even more money… Cannot count on this app.

@adriank1410 Hm... my previous reply was deleted, I assume it's because of the link I've inserted. Nevertheless: If you purchased Premium Features in RainViewer 1.x, all of them remain available for you in RainViewer 2. Pease feel free to use them! Some extra features, newly presented in RainViewer 2, can be purchased additionally. But it's optional. Please find more information on our website blog (the link to the website is at the top right corner of the page). As to the rain alerts, can you please contact us directly at support[at]rainviewer.com, because we need some more details? I appreciate your feedback!

I've been using first version of it since the initial release. Really helpful, much more than a commonly used forecast tables with numbers.

@peter_bondarevsky thank you for your feedback!

$10/yr is a great price for an app with so many options and configurations.

A perfect product, for those who love to live outdoors, for those who play sports at sea or in the mountains, but also for those who deal with agriculture or outdoor events or landscape photography. A must have, because it offers many options and customizations. In addition, the improvements are constant over time and the team of developers is serious and ambitious!

@johnny_redbridge Thank you for your feedback! You're absolutely right, RainViewer is really popular among farmers and the agricultural sector. In one of the press reviews, RainViewer was even featured as one of the best agri-apps.

Fools you into subscribing, then demands a second-tier upgrade to really access the features.
