Guysguysguys. How are you moving this to market? Have you considered talks with Manufacturers, or a licencing / rev-share model with service companies? What are the economics once you get to tens of thousands of units? I wonder if you could hi-jack the sales infrastructure of a Jiffylube-type company, and do a bulk-deal under the premise that it's contextual lead-gen / retention for their franchisees. Makes sense. While you're at it, consider sub-prime car-loan market... car dealers would likely pay a premium to reduce risk by being able to geo-locate their assets. (Especially if your device remotely disabled the ignition if they didn't pay their car loan payments.)

Is the plan in the future to give the product away for free, then charge for service? I'm interested in that model since the technology is going to advance and I can move with it if you aren't staying at the forefront. Do you already have a planned price sheet? I'd pay around $10/mo for two cars, but would look into Automatic if it was much more.

That's almost exactly what we'll be doing! The Ramen preorders are to reward early adopters, then when we launch subscriptions it will be $5-$15 /mo with no device fee.

We're working on building the sales channels, looking into the service company partnerships and how owners and drivers can put our data and interface to use. We're not sure about the bulk deals yet, Wehicle fits smaller fleets perfectly at the moment and there are lots of (expensive) players in the large-enterprise space.
