You can now accept international payments on Razorpay. Razorpay Payment Gateway and products like Subscriptions, Payment Pages, Invoices and Payment Links support payments in 100 foreign currencies.
This is great. Congrats on the launch. The status quo of payments/recurring payments in India has left a lot to be desired. Would love to see payment links support recurring payments too.
@shalinjain27 Hey Shalin, We're glad to share that we've recently launched Subscription Links. Much like Payment Links, you can generate links for your Subscription plans directly from the Subscriptions dashboard. Check this out - https://razorpay.com/subscriptio...
@ashwin_karthik1 I don't think it's enabled for our account. I don't see any such option inside the dashboard >> Subscriptions. ave DM'ed you our merchant ID.
Hello fellow hunters
It's been a long road to reach here, but we are glad that we are finally able to release support for multi-currency payment acceptance in the Indian market.
Introducing 100+ Multi-Currency Support:
โ Instant activation for accepting international payments
๐ฐ Accept $, Euro Symbol, AED and more through Razorpay
โ๏ธ Stop paying hefty fees to take your business global
Typically, buyers in most countries are forced to make purchases from Indian businesses in INR during international transactions, which can make the whole experience feel forced and reduce the buyerโs trust in the transaction and seller. This can also lead to abandoned carts and lost sales. Listing prices in the local currency and allowing users to pay in the currency of their country can make your customers feel at home while completing purchases.
While businesses in India were able to accept international payments via other PSPs, we are excited to announce that businesses on Razorpay can now easily accept payments in 100 foreign currencies from across the globe.
It gives me great joy that international payments works with Razorpayโs Payment Gateway as well as other products like:
๐ Payment Links - Send payment links to customers all over the world
๐ Subscription - Accept recurring payments in any currency
๐งพ Invoices - Send invoices to customers globally and get paid instantly
๐ Payment Pages - Instantly create pages to accept international payments
Here are some prominent features of international payments on Razorpay:
* Accept payments through cards issued by foreign banks
* Instant activation
* Support for 100+ currencies
* Competitive pricing plans in the industry
To help you get started, you can use coupon code โRZPINTโ to avail free credits worth Rs 100000 on your international transactions.
There is still a lot of work ahead but we fully intend to help accelerate growth of exports from India by reducing friction in payments. ๐๐๐
I would love for you to check out our products and give us your invaluable feedback on how we can get better.
@shashank_kr@nigel_antony Hey Nigel, I'm Ashwin Karthik, part of Razorpay! I'll be happy to have a chat with you regarding this. Could you share your email address with me so that we can continue this thread on email?
@shashank_kr I am actively looking for a way to accept international payments and get that money in my Indian account. Another thing that's important for me is that customers should not know my Indian address or Indian number or Indian company name. I also want the ability to change customer facing name easily, both while they are making payment and when they receive bank statement. And easy integration with Shopify is a must. I have filled out the form on your website and they say it will take 2 days for them to call.
But I cannot wait, I lost 8 orders today because of some PayPal problem. Users tried two to three times to make the purchase but paypal showed them that they are unable to make purchase from their account. Then I called the US paypal number and it got rectified automatically. No idea what they did but they kept saying all is good on their end.
People in US use Stripe a lot. So I am thinking to get a US company and a Stripe account, but if somehow things can be made possible here in India then I might never need a US company. I don't know about tax benefits yet, but that's a different talk.
Right now its only PayPal which lets us accept and it is just okay. Some international users run to the other direction when they see paypal because they don't want to create an account with them. A customer who abandoned the cart shared this with me today when I reached out to her.
I then had to explain her that there is an option to make the payment without creating the account.
So anyways, I will call your customer care today and I am looking forward to this solution. Want to get started ASAP.
Still remember me signing up on Razorpay almost 2 years ago and looking for an option to accept foreign payments. Thanks for doing all the hard work and finally rolling it out. The impact this feature will have on Indian startup ecosystem (especially the Indie hackers community) should be immense. Looking forward for the feature that makes it easier for Individuals to accept payment as well :)
@hackerkid Hey Vishnu, we are as excited as you are with launch. We will soon be opening up the platform for individuals and freelancers to transact via Razorpay. We'll keep you posted when we are close to a date!
Why isn't this product available for people outside of India? I am in Nigeria and wanted to give it a try but saw that users have to activate their accounts with a PAN number. That isn't something we have here.
@harshilmathur This one's is a true gem! How about we publish an interview about RazorPay at StartupRadius? Ping me at paul@startupradius.com if interested!
Great news for sure, but I registered for Razorpay in 2018, and still haven't been able to accept even a single payment through them. It sucks that there's no way to accept payments as an individual with Razorpay and users in India still have to use PayPal for their revenue generating side-projects.
You guys should let individuals start accepting payments on their platforms, or at least write a couple of blog posts about what (hassle free, cheapest, quickest) steps an individual needs to take to start accepting payments through Razorpay
@parasharanmol Hey Anmol, we hear you. We are working on that front. You should get an update from us in the coming months regarding this. Can I connect with you over email, so that I can include you as part of the Beta testing when the time comes?
@piyush_lathiya We do have various options under the charge at will flavour of our recurring payments product which can provide the functionality you're looking for.
Thanks for making this happen!.
Something like this is the need for the hour. Pretty sure this solves a large problem that SaaS businesses with international clients been facing here.
Hey @felix_josemon , thanks for the encouraging words. We have been hearing the same from our customers. It took us a while to ship it, but here we are! :) You can sign up on Razorpay today and take it for a spin. Do let us know what you think.
@achuthhadnoor Hey Achuth, thank you very much! We will soon be opening up the platform for individuals and freelancers to transact via Razorpay. We'll keep you posted when we are close to a date!
@shashank_kr@sumt7 Hey Sumeet, can you share your email address with me so that we can take this conversation over email? Thanks! We hope you enjoy the experience. :)
Super happy to see this.
How does this compare to something like stripe atlas? How does the transaction success % looks like ? Also can we do upsell and downsells ( clickfunnels style ) using RP?
@vaibhavsisinty Feels good to hear this :) We have a sharply focused set of apps for the Indian entrepreneur that can enable businesses to acquire international consumers without any integration at all. Stripe currently charges 3.9% +30ยข+currency conversion charges per transaction, we stand at 3% + GST. We do provide basic inbuilt SEO functionality in some of our apps, but we are yet to venture deeply into digital sales enablement for businesses. Thanks for this input, we will factor this in our roadmap :)
