Reader lets you save all of your content to one place: From articles to Twitter threads to PDFs to newsletters to RSS to epubs to... even YouTube! You can then read, search, organize and (of course) highlight everything, with a Reader built for 2023.

Reader looks promising. Something I really don't get: None of the content I have saved to Readwise is in Readwise Reader. All I see is the "Getting started with Reader" article, which doesn't give any hints as to how content from Readwise can be imported (I would assume this happens automatically with no actions needed from my side). Why is Readwise content not automatically shown in Readwise Reader? And how can it be rectified? There are no settings anywhere, it appears, and ditto no settings related to Reader in Readwise (Readwise Full subscriber here).

Such a big fan of this app โ€” love to see it expanding into a complete multi-format, cross-device read-it-later solution.

Been using this in private beta only a couple months. Itโ€™s an incredible, all-in-one reading destination. Import book, PDFs, and even annotate YouTube videos. Brilliant work by @homsit and the team. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Do yourself a favor and jump in on the private beta. If youโ€™re reading this, youโ€™ll love Reader.

I have been using Reader for several months. It has escalated my reading productivity far more than a cappuccino. If you have been lost in Pocket quicksand or RSS overwhelm, Reader uncloaks pieces that merit time and attention. Reading them is a joy and they are tied in with spaced repetition to integrate highlights into my ongoing life.

They say the mark of a product is how upset users would be if it ceased to exist. well, I'd be devastated. I use this in a way that I had never used it's predecessors. Such a great tool, well done team.

Iโ€™ve been a private beta user for a little bit and it was a solid early product. With the latest updates, Reader has become a great product with a clear and promising pathway to becoming a killer app. Congratulations to @homsit and @ddoyon for all their hard work paying off and a successful launch.

Hey PH, cofounder of Readwise here. Very excited to finally be sharing the public beta of Readwise Reader with the world: The main thing that makes Reader unique is that it supports almost any content type you could want to save/read/highlight: * articles ๐Ÿ“ฐ * PDFs ๐Ÿ“Š * emails/newsletters ๐Ÿ“ง * ePubs ๐Ÿ“š * twitter threads ๐Ÿฆ * youtube videos (with transcripts) ๐Ÿ“บ * RSS feeds ๐Ÿ“ƒ Reader helps you get all of your content in one place. We then built a powerful reading and highlight experience, as well as a bunch of novel triage/organization features, so you can actually stay on top of that content! There are also a lot of advanced features such as text-to-speech, GPT3 questions/summaries, super powerful highlighting (that includes markup and images), complex filtering/search (with our own query language), sleek mobile triage UI, keyboard shortcuts for reading/everything, integrations with note-taking apps, much more. There's a lot more to the product and the story behind it, which you can read about in our launch blog post here: https://blog.readwise.io/the-nex... We initially launched Readwise "1.0" on ProductHunt 5(!) years ago, and part of that product was integrating with all these different reading apps: Pocket, Instapaper, Feedly, PDF apps, and more. Our users constantly found problems with these reading apps and asked us to fix them... which ultimately lead to us building Reader! So it's fun to be back here again, where it all started :) Thanks to @chrismessina for hunting us!

@chrismessina @homsit Sounds like Reader is the perfect tool for staying on top of everything I need to read and remember.

@chrismessina @homsit I think this is perfect for someone like me to stay organized. Congratulations on this!

@chrismessina @homsit Awesome, how does it compare to Matter? Already using Readwise's main product btw

@chrismessina @homsit that's what I was dreaming about! This will definitely help me save time and sort everything out, thank you!

I was really blown away by Reader when I discovered it a few weeks ago. In such a short time-span it's really elevated how I consume content and has even encouraged me to be more thoughtful about annotating and highlighting more frequently. Would also highly recommend the Discord server as they are super responsive to feedback. Can't recommend the app highly enough and can't wait to see it develop and refine!

Best product I've used in 2022 (and I've used a lot of them). Aside from Chrome and Slack, there isn't another app I spend more time in each day.

The Reader team has done more to innovate on the reading experience in 3 months than others have seemed to do in 3 years. I was already a huge Readwise fan, and now they've created another must-have app for me. I save a lot. Sometimes too much. And, with other apps, I found myself so habitually saving articles that I had trouble sorting them out on the other end. With Reader's filtered views and Inbox/Later approach, I can rely on my organization to create reading (and reference) lists for different moods and needs... and let the rest wither away. Plus, I've started consolidating more types of documents for a single place to read. As a speed reader, "second brain" enthusiast, and typography nerd, Reader has also greatly enhanced the reading experience for me. Two things I'll call out are the side panels (especially the document outline) and the ability to add notes to highlights (which also then sync to linked applications). These seemingly minor features have greatly improved my workflow in reading quickly and turning learnings into actionable insights.

How cool is this? I already love Readwise, and now you're telling me I have a Reader where I can get my feeds and save things to read later. This will eliminate two products for me!~

One of my favorite apps that I use daily. The team is great as well!
Ahmed Shoukry
thank you will be possible to import all the articles from pocket not the highlights so readwise may replace it?
Tristan Homsi
@ashoukry yes! The first screen after signing up will let you connect pocket and pull in alll of your articles from there :)
Ahmed Shoukry
@homsit I tried to login using my readwise account on the android app I got this message CSRF verification failed forbidden 403
Ahmed Shoukry
will it replace readwise app or its a companion I logged with my same account but couldn't find my previously imported tweets for example
Maximilian Schulz
@ashoukry Hereโ€™s a quote from their FAQs on this: โ€œRight now, you can think of Reader as another reading app that integrates with Readwise (albeit seamlessly because they share a database). Every highlight you make in Reader instantly syncs with Readwise and then from Readwise to your note-taking apps. Over time, the vision is to create a unified experience between Readwise and Reader within Reader.โ€

This is a game changer! Congrats on the launch! ๐Ÿš€

The Readwise Reader is next level, reinventing what is possible with a reader app. I've been using it for a while now, nothing like it on the market. It's where I read almost everything now.
Mark Mulvey
Been using this daily since the private beta started. It's fantastic, and getting better. I'm fully off of Pocket at this point.
Jason Crawford
Been using this for a while in private beta! And have been using the main Readwise itself for many years, huge fan. The integration of Readwise highlighting is a great feature. This is a great team and they're iterating very well on Reader. Am enjoying it so far and looking forward to even more product evolution coming.
