I’m excited to share Reddit Answers, Reddit’s new AI-powered tool!
Reddit has always been a goldmine of community-driven insights, but navigating through threads can sometimes be overwhelming.

Currently in early access for U.S. users (English only for now), Reddit Answers bridges the gap between search engines and real human perspectives. Whether you’re looking for niche advice, real-world tips, or unique community-driven ideas, it delivers the best of Reddit in a streamlined format.

@chrismessina yes, that is not expected. Here's what they say on their landing page which you may have noticed as well —
Not just anyone can be a contributor—to join, and stay, in the program contributors need to meet the requirements in the Earn Terms and Earn Policy.
— Earn 1,000 gold and 100 new karma after earning your first gold
— Live in a supported country and be 18+ years old (or the minimum age in your country)
— Successfully complete the verification process
— Only Safe for Work contributions qualify for payout
— Account age must be 30+ days old
Maybe you do not have 1000 gold, that must be preventing the qualification.

It might be a useful tool in the era of word aquarium especially!! I believe the merge of any communities and AI will be more powerful together. Appreciated.

This is such a great idea! I can only imagine the effort that went into building something like Reddit Answers—there’s so much content on Reddit, and making it easier to navigate is a huge win. @abhas_sinha2 Absolutely! Reddit Answers utilises AI models from both OpenAI and Google Cloud. Thanks to their data licensing agreement, the platform is able to create a robust tool that delivers accurate responses to user queries. :)

@varrr_al Indeed. It's so much better than generic summarized responses on other LLMs. Out of all the social media platforms, Reddit seems to still have higher percent of real organic conversations.
Interesting idea! But I’m wondering, how does Reddit plan to filter out low-quality or spammy answers? Also, will there be any incentives for users to provide more detailed or insightful responses as the platform grows?

@sujingshen Good questions.
Reddit has its own spam filters to active ban accounts and remove spam content. Of course, it's not going to be 100% accurate, but it does the job decently.

I see similar ideas but the way this integrates with Reddit’s threads and communities makes it stand out.

@liora_lyons Yes, there are also third-party LLMs or AI tools that did this. Now, Reddit is natively releasing the feature integrated into their own platform. :)
