@amrith Thanks a lot and thanks for your question! The idea came about when I realized that my friends and I always talked about movies and shows and would recommend them to each other, but then when I'd sit down to watch something, I'd never remember what they told me to watch, where to watch it, etc. I'd end up scrolling through the Netflix, Amazon, etc. options, which aren't that great and which I don't trust as much as I would a recommendation from a friend who knows what I like, and I'd end up giving up and watching another episode of the same old show. That gave me the idea to have an app where I could send and receive recommendations from my friends so I could pull the list up when I was about to watch something and save time scrolling the options. Once I had a team of co-founders on board, we workshopped the idea until we came up with what was eventually Reklist. We added onto the original idea (and still have plenty more features we're going to add to the platform) and have been tinkering around for about a year. We just officially launched and are starting to get the word out to everyone, building a community while we add features and learn from our users. Eventually we have plans to go beyond movies and shows, too!
