As I mentioned in my opening comment, there are some issues which are holding back the adoption of remote work in country from the perspective of jobs. - Lack of knowledge (You don't know where to start looking) - Search many places (You have to browse different sites to find opportunities) - Timezone bound (Sometimes descriptions subtly mention that they require devs operating out of US or Europe) > I cannot imagine the jobs being uniquely suited for Indian people to be honest. You are perfectly right to say so. And none of the jobs are advertised so. There will surely be overlap of listings between this job board and the other ones. What we are trying here is to curate jobs (as a community) which are relevant for our time zone. Also we can unearth some opportunities using crowdsourcing. For example, if an Indian individual is already working remotely for a company, and there is a new opportunity, he/she can share this with the community (if they feel it's ok). I have got my last remote job using my personal network. Now I am trying to extend that network and help the remote work movement in India 😎 I am happy to answer further questions.

@avi87 I did read your opening comment but other than the time zone, these are exact same issues faced by every remote job seeker.. and India's time zone is not even unique to India.. there's an overlap with Russia for example :P I just think there is no need for this. Either that or I'm somehow misunderstanding the target audience..

@anna_0x Let me share another example. Hopefully that will clear up things a bit. If you work at a co-working space, you will generally find a pinboard for jobs. Now it might be few in number (and not even unique) but they are an incentive to the members. Consider this website to be a virtual pinboard of jobs relevant for the RemoteIndian community. I shall rest my case now 😄

Hey @milanmmotavar thank you for your question 😊It's a good one !! I plan to crowdsource the listings using this form and then evaluate and share the quality leads out of that list on the job board 🕵️‍♂️ In order to incentivise this, I plan to introduce a monthly bounty program to reward the hunters who submit the max number of selected entries (kind of similar to Facebook bug bounty program). Obviously this process will be further streamlined and improved as time goes. May be I can write a chrome extension which scrapes the important info and saves it (like evernote clipper does). So while scraping is a possible solution, I feel that writing one which works out of the box is not a wise one. And frankly, I delayed shipping this project because I considered scraping and got scared by the scope of the task 😅 I am betting on human curation rather than algorithms 😎 I hope this answers your query :) And do let me know what your thoughts are 🙌
