I'm the founder of RemotePOC. I started this community to help rebalance the workplace gap for professionals of color. As a first generation latina, I know that I'm not alone in feeling like the token in the conference room. Like many other professionals of color, I've dealt with condescending bosses, difficulty negotiating my salary, lack of promotion paths and systemic discrimination in the job hunt. I wanted to create a safe space outside of your existing company to get feedback & support for the challenges we face. Ultimately, I believe we can make huge strides by helping trusted, inclusive companies hire more professionals of color around the world. We vet companies we partner with & encourage them to implement better DEI and remote-work practices across the organization.
