I love what I've seen of ReplyAll on TechCrunch and elsewhere. It's finally a new way to experience conversations. Can you guys plug into things like Tumblr and Wordpress easily?
@weinberg81 Hey thanks Dave. Yes, ReplyAll embeds across platforms! Ultimately, we're going to build specific plug-ins for each of the platforms you mentioned.
PS here is a link to some of my own personal conversations that I've published on Above the Law where I am a writer abovethelaw.com/author/zachabramowitz/
Btw -- saw someone listed Intercom as a similar product. As an Intercom user, I wouldn't compare it with ReplyAll. Content sites and bloggers use ReplyAll to publish interviews, panels and debates as content on their site, not in order to communicate with customers/users.
Hey there PH, here's our story. Ari Gold and I used to exchange emails every day about sports, politics and pop culture. We lamented the fact that there was no simple, compelling way to publish these conversations. We thought we were weird but then we saw some of our favorite writers like Bill Simmons & Malcolm Gladwell plus Sam Harris & Glenn Greenwald were doing just that: publishing email exchanges as content on their site.
So we built RA to make it easy for you to publish this content (no cutting & pasting long email chains or transcribing in person interviews) and allow your readers to follow along like a fly on the wall. Participation is (like an email chain) asynchronous, so no one has to block off time or coordinate schedules like you would for a podcast or a live chat. It's an easier, better way to publish interviews, panels and debates.
I've personally used ReplyAll to publish interviews with Mark Cuban and YCs Sam Altman, discuss startup depression with Brad Feld and debate marijuana legalization with David Frum.
Happy to answer questions about product, team, business model and conversationalists who inspire us!
@chaimhaas thanks for the question. In beta, ReplyAll conversations have appeared on TechCrunch, SB Nation (Vox), Abovethelaw.com, GoingConcern.com, The Houston Chronicle and Boston.com just to name a few. But we also have organizations like Stanford University, NYU Law and JOFA.org who are putting ReplyAll to use.
Re: engagement metrics, ReplyAll conversations average over 10 minutes time on page and 2.7 page views per unique when the conversations are published live.
Was hunted a year ago (http://www.producthunt.com/tech/...). Is there a new 2.0 version of the product? It's a really nice approach to interviews or conversations on blogs and the best thing is that is embeddable on any website. Really like the product and the approach.
@jordigg Hi Jordi, thanks for the comment. Someone else hunted us when we were just starting in beta last year.
Since then we've further tested how our users use ReplyAll and made many updates. Including, changing/simplifying the creation process, UI/design tweaks, and added additional features. Most notably, the "Notify Me" button which allows your readers to sign up for updates that send them directly back to your page.
Looks promising and not even similar to the Intercom. Loved Sam Altman interview and loved it even more when found out that it's real :-) Zach, how can I reach you by e-mail, I have a proposal I want to share? @zachabramowitz
@yakovkarda really appreciate the kind words! Btw, since you mentioned it, I think reality is what gets lost in the typical, predetermined interviews where all the questions are sent and answered in advance. Video, audio and in person interviews don't take place that way, why should text?
And feel free to email me zach at replyall.me
@zachabramowitz I totally agree with you, and that's one of the reasons why "normal" interviews are so 90s now :-) Personally, I don't like podcasts (needs too much of a focus) and real time text sounds like a wonderful thing! Will e-mail you now!
