@cbkrish I was looking for a projections calculator based on different parameters that affect it. If say we reduce churn by so much we could hit our revenue goal faster or so. I was thinking this would help teams realise the importance of how revenue is affected based on other params. And also help focus more on retention vs acquisition or so.

@nivasravi Thanks. It cannot predict the future. But what it CAN do is help you identify the right levers to boost your growth. For example, it lets you view your growth as the result of new user acquisitions, free customers converting to paid, and existing customers expanding with you. From there, you can dive into your trial to active conversion lead time and optimize it, identify the channel that brings in highest quality leads and double down on that, or understand your churn reasons and plug the leak.

@cbkrish, Few thoughts if you have started with B2B sales : a) Try reaching out to SAAS companies who have recently raised funding. They will be willing to use a tool like Revenue Story. b) Try reaching out to SAAS companies hiring for product manager Would love to hear your thoughts too.

Thanks @shreyaa_ratra - One of the big pains solved in RevenueStory is offering role-based dashboards. While MRR, in a subscription-driven org is everybody's problem, the specific metrics that investors, the executive team, marketing, product, sales and finance look at, and the decisions they derive from them are vastly different. So we look at targeting and adding value to each of these roles through the dashboards in RevenueStory...

Some interesting ideas, but poorly designed. Not impressed that as a Chargebee customer, we're expected to pay for the full suite. Sticking with Chartmogul.

@qvikr It's not totally free. You have "premium" reports. I'm guessing this is why you don't support GA enhanced ecommerce, as you instead want to sell that functionality as an add on. Overall, I'm rather underwhelmed by chargebee as a whole. Am I correct in guessing that next, the ability to set one off purchases that don't effect churn metrics will be a paid thing too?

We are customers since early alpha, and this is really the missing link for detailed subscription growth analysis, for all levels from executive/reporting down to operational analysis, and we even started to us it for explorative analysis. A definitive recommendation from my end.

RevenueStory has fixed my main gripe with Chargebee so far. The lack of decent reporting was becoming a significant issue for us. RevenueStory goes a looog way towards fixing this. Minor issues remaining. Not sure I love the idea of paying more for a few of the more on-demand metrics. Eg why should I pay more to see LTV compared to average MRR?

Kudos to the Chargebee team -- we've had early access to RevenueStory and it's made Chargebee even more valuable to our team. We track week-to-week how our core metrics are changing from a marketing view, while finance and product can look at month-to-month or q/q metrics. It's well polished and the ability to create your own dashboards really helps with each person's unique needs.

Why not just power-up the existing analytics feature in Chargebee itself? Why create a whole new product?

@karthikgovindarajan That's a question we asked ourselves when we first started working on RevenueStory. Revenue reporting is a fundamental capability that a subscription management product must offer (and that's what Chargebee's reporting suite already offers). But in order to go deeper into your customer's behaviour and get a 360 degree view of revenue, customers and your service, we believed we must think, act and execute on RevenueStory as a separate offering and give it the focus it deserves.

Awesome product. Gives clear metrics from a high level on how things run across all departments. Executive watch is very interesting and churn cohorts gives us clear picture on what kind of customers should be targeted.
