Hi everyone! We're very excited to share the new Riverside to you all. Our team has poured our hearts into developing a platform that empowers creators, storytellers, and anyone with an idea to share. Riverside simplifies the process of recording, editing, and sharing conversations with the world. We understand the challenges that come with creating high-quality content, so we help you look and sound professional without the need for technical skills. Riverside already does so many great things for creators, like: → Recording audio and video tracks separately for easier post-production → Local recording on your device so you can record even with a bad internet connection → Generating accurate transcriptions for free using the power of AI And now, we are super excited to introduce text-based editing to the mix. Instead of juggling between multiple tools, you can now record your content and edit it all in the same place. And the best part is that you don’t need to know how to do any technical editing for this. It’s intuitive and all done by selecting text! We're passionate about helping you transform your ideas into shareable content. We can't wait to see the incredible stories and conversations you bring to life using Riverside! @blakebemal Congrats on the product launch! We are huge fans of Riverside and use the platform for all of our podcasts. Excited to see the addition of the new text-based editing tool.

@blakebemal congrats on the launch. The video does a really nice job describing the product, but what would you say to someone who already uses Descript?
Blake Emal
@product_at_producthunt Hi Michael! Great question. The really cool thing about this update is that it allows you to record, transcribe, edit, and share all from the same place. You can save big in costs from multiple tools, but also on time by building a simpler and more efficient workflow. Hope this helps!

Useful application. Can you throw some light on difference between Riverside and Descript
Blake Emal
@matcha_anil Hi Anil! So a big difference is with Riverside, you can record, transcribe, edit, and share all from the same place. This means you can build a simpler and quicker workflow for your content creation.

I'm in absolute love with Riverside! The search bar is gonna save me SO much time. Keep it up!

Interested to test this out for myself. I currently use Streamyard + Descript for my podcast (Data Career Podcast). If this works well, it could potentially save me $ and time flipping back and forth! Going to test it right now.

update, I recorded a 4 second video and the transcription has taken 15 minutes.....so not sure if it's high traffic or what but looks like I'm keeping descript for the time being.

Absolute game changer for podcasts. Hope to be able to use this one day (No podcast yet!)

The new transcription editing is a game changer, especially for quickly finding the best moments of my podcasts and exporting vertical clips for social media. Love it!

Riverside has done a great job of improving the product. Tbh, when I first used it ~3 years ago, it was a little unreliable but now I know a lot of friends that use it for their video shows/podcasts.

We're just about rounding the corner of using Riverside.fm for the last 3 years and I'm simply amazed at what it's become. The folks behind it are determined to lead the charge in the space of software-free, superior quality remote podcast recordings. That doesn't mean there haven't been scrapes and bruises along the way, but they power through it to continue developing an UNMATCHED, superior product. Our podcast game is leaps and bounds from what it once was and it's all thanks to Riverside.fm's help. I don't know where we'd be without them.
