Experienced hunters, how to get featured next time?

by

🚀 Yay, I launched my product on Producthunt today (post) :-). I quit my job 7 months ago, and after over 2000 hours of building its finally live today, super excited. I spent a lot of time optimizing my website and post, adding videos, graphics, a free plan, discount code, demo account, shoutouts and more, as I don't have a big audience and hoped to get the most out of this opportunity as I only got one shot.

Unfortunately, it didn't get featured. I do have some enthousiastic users, and during the first hour, I had more upvotes than many of the featured products today ✌️. After the featured products had 4 hours of exposure, I was at place #28 (number 1 of 180 unfeatured products).

In the past hour, I managed to surpass some featured products, and I expected that to result in my product being shown on the homepage. However what happened is that the number of listings on the homepage is now reduced. There is just literally no way of making it without being featured.

To be fair I was a bit salty, and I'm still a bit disappointed, but I understand that ProductHunt wants to keep lower quality posts out, and they have no obligation towards me. There's benefit in posting on ProductHunt regardless. However I learned that getting featured is super important.

I love getting inspired by all the great products, and would be keen to learn from experienced users and prevent not getting featured next time - could you have a look at my post, the landing page, maybe try the product with the demo account? Don't hold back, keen to hear your honest feedback!

What are some tricks to make sure your product is valued by those who decide on the featuring?

Appreciate your feedback, trying to make it next time! ☺️

Hey Man, Sorry to hear that. It's hard to get featured on ProductHunt. However you can submit your product in lots of related lists to your product and find some users.

You can find much more free places on The Marketing Newsletter
