Hello Product Hunt,
👋 Radu here, founder & CEO of FlowOS, the company that builds Sessions — a platform that makes your remote meetings better by bringing all your collaboration tools into one space.
🙏 I really cannot express in words the level of excitement we're feeling today by being live on Product Hunt - we have been dreaming about this moment for months. Thank you so much, @benln, for hunting us. We super appreciate your support!
✊ And before anything else, I would like to thank our wonderful Sessions community of users from all around the world. We would not be here without your valuable support and feedback.
Why Sessions?
⏱ We built Sessions because we were wasting too much time, energy & focus switching between apps & accounts when organizing complex remote meetings.
🤯 Last year — when such a product was much needed — we realized there was no tool out there which helped you manage the entire process of organizing a meeting: planning, structuring, running, and following up. We had video conferencing and instant messaging apps, calendars, scheduling apps, cloud documents and drives, whiteboards, and so on, but what we needed was a single tool that coherently integrates these functions for their ultimate purpose: the meeting itself.
So, what is Sessions?
It is a platform that links our real-time communication needs with all our favorite collaboration and content tools.
✏️ To maximize efficiency and productivity, we created a unique feature that lets you design your meetings in advance around a clear agenda, and with all the tools and content you need, embedded & ready to use. We call it the Designer.
🗓️ Sessions also allows you to organize and orchestrate your meetings from a macro perspective, using its built-in Calendar.
🧠 All your meeting details, resources, and notes are stored intuitively, so you can instantly jump back on your past meetings and search for anything you may need. We call this the Memory.
🧰 Besides its integration capabilities, we've also worked on a set of Sessions native in-meeting tools, designed to maintain focus and increase interactivity and participant engagement. We call them Artifacts:
- Conference - decide who is in the spotlight and who can be just a passive listener.
- SlideShow - have you ever shared a presentation without sharing your screen or a link?
- VideoShow - a pre-recorded video or a live stream playing natively in the same conditions for all participants
- Forms - collect poll & form results from your participants directly in Sessions.
- Smartboard - interactive whiteboard, embedded directly in your conference
- Questions - a module that helps you run better Q&As
- Takeaways - share meeting conclusions instantly with all participants as soon as the meeting ends
- Gallery - browse media galleries together with your participants
- Break - extremely recommended from time to time
- Chat - share ideas with all participants during the meeting
- Notes - take private notes for yourself that get sent automatically to you via email.
- Resources - all meeting files, docs, and other resources are stored within the meeting itself
- Automations - send automated follow-ups with all the right resources to all the right people
- Integrations - platforms and tools that we are blending seamlessly into the Sessions experience: Google Docs & Miro.
What's next?
- A mobile and desktop version
- A smart recording function
- Breakout rooms for splitting the audience into separate groups
- Billable Sessions for paid sessions
- Figma for showcasing prototyping designs to your Sessions' audience.
- All of Notion’s superpowers directly embedded for Sessions' users
- Spotify, play music or podcasts for your audience during your session.
- Google Calendar, sync Sessions Calendar with Google Calendar to have a full overview of your schedule
And the list will only continue to grow. Sessions is built upon FlowOS, our proprietary technology, that enables us to scale and add functionalities with great speed and ease.
🤓 We can't wait to hear your feedback, Product Hunters!
Sessions is available at https://sessions.us/, works browser-based, and for now, we’re optimized for desktop and tablet. We’re still in open beta and strive to become better and better with each iteration and only with your help can we accomplish this.
🙏 Join us, share your thoughts & let’s build something great together!
Supercool! i love ot, really useful. looking forward to start testing as an embedded solution for our users to make the life easier and more effective communication process!
Very functional and well designed from the start. The possibilities go far beyond a normal video conference. Especially by designing the agenda with blocks, there is the possibility to structure onlnie meetings better and to keep time frames. Sessions give videoconferences a completely different meaning than simply seeing each other and looking at PowerPoint or Excel together.
Congrats! This product is insanely promising, and I hope that all the plans will be achieved. It is crazy how many good products we are getting ever since the COVID. I used to struggle with an issue, but due to the situation, I was able to solve it. I have severe muscle pain, and I had to visit my physiotherapist two times a week. My issue was that I traveled a lot, and when the pandemic started, I was stuck in another country. Luckily I was able to find hipaa compliant video conferencing, and it saved me since I was able to meet with my doctor via a conference. That is why I would love to recommend it.
I'll start off by divulging my biases.
I am a beta test user, I got access to Sessions in exchange for feedback on the tool. It's actually the first time I've experienced this with software, so there's definitely some novelty for me in the process. Also, I really enjoy being part of the development process for things, so I have some excitement about being involved in general.
I'm writing here for a variety of reasons, foremost I was asked to help make it possible for Sessions to be successful, and I am on board with fulfilling that request, I'll get into the important details of why in a minute. Beyond those details, it is pertinent to you as a reader to know that I have some loyalty built in because of my having been given beta access, in essence I'm a stakeholder in the success of this platform. On the flip side of that, if I was not going to be using this tool actively, I would not be a stakeholder in their success.
As far as my trustworthiness as a reviewer, my partiality... I do occasionally give a bland review about something as a way to leverage a promotion. I often give critical reviews to inform other consumers about bad or risky purchases. I never give a gleaming review unless something is excellent in my experience. I only give detailed reviews when I want my feedback to really count.
So on to those details. Why am I on board to help Sessions gain success and broad market acceptance? In short, it's because it fits many of my specific needs, and so far does so very well. Functionality wise, for my main use cases it has almost everything I could want, and the few things that it has yet to implement are in development currently, such as breakout rooms and a payment gateway. My main use cases, I do consulting and coaching work with individuals, groups and businesses. Sessions replaces several other services I was already using, and adds functionality I have been wanting. I am also planning on using this to do structured coworking from home, it will be amazing to have a time management and resource sharing too built into our video conferencing. Also, I plan to experiment with using Sessions to help with recording a podcast. My use case for podcast recording is that one of my cohosts lives several states away, and it helps us a lot with rapport to have video conferencing running while we are recording. With Sessions we'll not only be able to have video conferencing, but I can in essence use it as a story board that enforces a recording agenda and has integration of information resources. We can share a google doc with talking points, we can do reactions to videos/articles etc all without having to switch apps.
There are a few things I am left wanting with this tool, and because it's still in development I'll be very curious to follow along and find out if they will implement my wants. Something that I'm not confident will happen, but if it does I'd be both impressed and grateful, an integration of some sort with Spotify or at least some kind of music player as an artifact option for blocks. Specifically, I sometimes teach dance along with the other things I do. Thus far I've tried a number of platforms to accomplish this particular use case, and nothing is up to snuff. I know there must be software solutions to implement that would make it possible to forgo having to use a mixer/audio interface and a bunch of cables so that I can pipe music into live video conferencing. Also, it is critical to be able to turn off the noise cancellation processing so that music does not get compressed and distorted. Zoom has the ability to turn off noise cancellation, but it's not user-friendly, as in you cannot easily switch it on and off without going through menus and that messes with the flow of a class a lot. If Sessions were to develop an artifact that allows playing music directly though the app with either a native player or an integration with something like Spotify, and integrate automated switching on and off of noise cancellation... Game changer for online dance and movement teachers.
On to my last segment here, I am a UI snob, and Sessions UI is very good. I spent less than an hour learning the basics of Sessions and I didn't need any tutorials to figure it out. That's one of my standard tests for a new tool. If it has tutorials available great, but hopefully I never need them. Such is the case with Sessions thus far. I basically just skipped over the onboarding video and tried to learn it on my own. I was successful and it was easy. I have yet to need to use any provided learning material about the platform and have not run into any frustrations at all. Highest marks for that level of intuitive user interface design and implementation.
@marty_wyrding Marty, totally blown away about your comment ❤️ Thank you very much! We are super grateful to have you in our community and the Spotify artifact it’s a promise. 🙏 We’ll have it very soon!
@radu_negulescu I am super excited that you'll be running with my request for music integration. I think it will accommodate a market that has had to suffer with subpar tools thus far.
I hate most presentation based meetings - you know the ones where nothing was shared up front and then someone plods through slide after slide slowing reading you the content and you struggle to stay awake?
Online team meetings should be about decision making, fast efficient presentation of specific data, summary review of shared info, quick collaboration / discussion and then make a decision and go back to work.
Sessions lets me do that. I can prepare a tight agenda, deliver it fast and efficiently and then share the decisions made super quick at the end.
Its game changing video conferencing for running team meetings. It will change how I do sales presentations too.
Its how video conferencing should have always been™.
Such a amazing tool and the team. Got overwhelmed with it. It has almost everything that a meeting/conference/webinar app should have and the best part is their team. They listen your feedback and implement it in no time. Keep it up guys!! Just waiting for the custom branding, mobile version and upcoming billable sessions. 🤩
Sessions is the future for meetings.
We can use this tool for multiple purposes like pitching, online teaching, and team collaboration.
A lot of built-in features. This tool is helpful to developers, designers, marketers, teachers, management....
I have been one of the beta testers for Sessions. I must say that this software is simply amazing with lots of potential. Keep an eye on Sessions because it is destined for the moon!
in the past two months we went from 28 to 76 customer interview per month without hiring extra reps just by using the meeting design feature to combine video calls, pdfs, live docs and forms in 1 single system.
Looking forward to seeing what they come up with next!
@radutin You’re welcome, but thank you for creating this product! i am soooo against that Z word and you’ve made it so much easier for me to leave it behind altogether for my conferencing needs!
I've started using Sessions with all of our clients and noticed a significant decrease in time spent in meetings! Besides that, we really enjoy the experience, simplicity and straightforwardness of the app! Great job, guys!
@craciun_andrei_fredy Thank you so much, Fredy! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you like Sessions. If you have any questions we are happy to answer them.
I like what I am seeing so far in Sessions looks like unique solution to make online interactions productivity and easy to use! I tested with couple of friends and it was super easy to create and start using.
I am very surprised on seeing what is already accomplished by the team and seeing how they are going to make it even better.
And in the future, I see this application being especially helpful for all the users who want to make the online meeting easy and effective.
I wish you all the best!
