@ahmad_eusof thanks a lot! It is possible to build a site a lot like Fiverr with Sharetribe, no coding needed. Upwork has a "reverse marketplace" flow, which you can achieve partially without coding with Sharetribe, but for the full experience, you might want to customize your marketplace a bit with code, like this Upwork-like customer of ours has done: https://softwaresupp.com/jobs
@mohammed_mustafa_jafer a great question! There are loads of those concepts where I totally didn't realize that a market for that thing existed. For example:
- A marketplace connecting farms to relief milkers (a relief milker, apparently, is a thing)
- A marketplace helping sales people from big companies to book meetings with influential business leaders in exchange for a charitable donation
- A marketplace helping people become better at playing Pokemon Go
- A marketplace where you could hire someone in a different city to give you a virtual "tour" in a place of your choice through their mobile phone. One of those COVID-inspired ideas...
This is why I'm so bullish about marketplaces: there are so many untapped business opportunities out there when you start looking at the world through this lense!

I built the MVP of my startup on the old version of Sharetribe (Sharetribe GO). With GO I grew the business to 100+ users, and attracted an investor. I’ve been working on an improved experience with this new version of Sharetribe and it’s looking incredible. I highly recommend Sharetribe to anyone looking to start or grow their marketplace. I'm looking for a no-code solution to create an MVP of SaaS with a custom business logic inside: different subscriptions with different options, integration and merging results from different LLMs, setup of recurring payments on a monthly and yearly basis.
Is it possible?
@borismanzhela That sounds like an intriguing idea! Integrating subscription logic & any third party is essentially not a problem, but...Sharetribe is meant for building two-sided platforms/online marketplaces, best known as the Airbnb/Uber/Etsy for X model.
Does your business idea have that component? I couldn't make that out from your description.

i have been using Sharetribe for a while and eagerly waiting for it's current release.
Whenever I connected with the Sharetribe team they said to wait for the new version.
I am hopeful that the new version stands out on all the promises and helps extend features and customisation as explained here.

We have several founder success stories here (https://www.sharetribe.com/custo...) most of which feature founders who are profitable and/or have received millions in VC investments.
And there are many more founders that we assume are profitable (based on what we can see from their activity), but this is not something that we can track unless founders share it with us (we don't know their operation costs of course).
However, of course, marketplaces are tough businesses, perhaps the toughest out there, so the majority of our customers probably isn't yet profitable.
But what we can promise is that you will find out if your idea can be successful without wasting tens of thousands of dollars or years of your time.
Looking forward to trying the new version. Been a while since I visited my original idea I spoke with Juho about what seems like a lifetime ago. If I am correct with assessing this current version, I can connect my Sharetribe marketplace to almost any API?

Correct! Through our developer platform you can plug in any API. How much work that is depends mostly on your own coding skills and the other API, of course!

Perhaps you could help with one question I have. What types of revenue models can I implement with a "rental style marketplace"
For example, can I charge montly subscription fees for vendors, transaction fees for successful transactions, and premium listing fees for enhanced visibility? Any or all of these models doable?
@mark_delville Understood! I suggest contacting our support directly at help@sharetribe.com. Our customer success team speak to hundreds of founders every week, and they know exactly (in most cases) what is possible. Or at least, much better than me, the marketing guy!
Regarding the monetization question: I've heard them all separately done, but not sure about the combination! I'll pull in some more info, and get back to you!

Regarding the question you asked: we have an out of the box implementation for taking a transaction fee. In addition, there's a no-code way to charge a monthly subscription fee, though some manual steps are required https://www.sharetribe.com/help/...
For featured listings, some coding on top of our developer platform is required to make that work, but it's definitely doable too.
I've had the pleasure of utilizing Sharetribe for my marketplace needs and I must say, it's an absolute game-changer. The platform is not only user-friendly but also incredibly versatile, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced developers.
