Hey Product Hunt! In November of last year, we launched the first version of Ship Your Side Project. After a successful first cohort in January 2016, we're back at it again and making it better than ever. New in 2.0 - MENTORS: Each participant is assigned a mentor who hosts office hours to provide feedback and guidance on their side project - COMMUNITY: We upgraded from Google Groups to Mightybell for more robust community hub to share ideas and build relationships with other members - ACCOUNTABILITY: each participant will be featured on a "Launched" page on shipyoursideproject.com to provide positive peer pressure to finish their project What's still there - FOCUS: a six week program capped at 30 participants means everyone is there to work and make things happen - GUIDANCE: each week participants receive 2 short assignments (12 total) designed to help guide them towards making their projects a success - TRAINING: participants also get a 30-45 min video each week featuring a tech professional who's successfully launched a side project and how they did it

Hey Guys, I was in the first cohort of SYSP and successfully started shipped my React Native app, ntwrk. I've been toying with the idea of ntwrk for over three years but it wasn't until I joined SYSP that I actually started working on it and it became a reality. It took longer than six weeks to launch but SYSP was key to getting over the static friction of turning an idea into something real.
