Super excited to officially launch Arrive, our latest consumer app from Shopify Garage (our experimental product team) on PH. 📦🚀 Arrive makes it easy to track all of your online orders in one place, no matter the delivery carrier or store you ordered from. We automate the process with a live map view and rich notifications, making Arrive a useful tracking app that you’ll love to use but don't have to open up every time. We launched our beta with an Upcoming page here on PH - https://www.producthunt.com/upco... - followed that up with a soft launch in Canada and then the US. Now we’re ready to let more people try Arrive. Expect more updates from us as we keep working on making the waiting process almost as fun as actually getting cool new stuff in the mail. This is just the beginning. https://twitter.com/robjama/stat... We geeked out a bit and did a deep dive video essay into the history of airmail and international shipping -
EDIT: Arrive is only available on the Canadian and US App Store. We'll be looking to expand to other regions + adding more email providers soon.

@sethlouey That's awesome to hear! Thanks Seth 🙌
William Falloon
@robjama This looks amazingly helpful, any word on when I can expect it's arrival (heh) on the UK app store?
János Spindler
@robjama arrive looks amazing! please bring it to germany soon 😄 it would totally solve a huge problem for me and everyone i know 🙌
Robleh Jama
@janosspindler @william_falloon Thanks!! We'll be looking to expand to more countries in 2018 🌏

Do you guys sell individual shopping data to marketers and data miners like Slice? I read the privacy policy, it’s not the case currently, but I wonder if it’s in a future plan.
Robleh Jama
@chiancheng Hey Cheng! Good question. We designed Arrive with a privacy-first approach. Arrive only syncs information directly related to your packages - like the tracking number, mail carrier, product info - and uses that data to organize your deliveries for you. We take privacy very seriously and do not (and will never) share, disclose, or sell personal information.
Mohit
@chiancheng @robjama What about selling personal information anonymously?Your privacy policy says "We do not and will never share, disclose, sell, rent, or otherwise provide Personal Information to other companies for the marketing of their own products or services." But does that mean that you can share our data to company who may use this to enhance their product like for example Uber bought data from Slice to see how many lyft rides their users were making.
Robleh Jama
Hey @mohitify we don't and have no plans in the future to sell the data we use for Arrive to third parties for their own independent purposes!
Mohit
@robjama Then I think Privacy Policy should be updated to reflect any purposes instead of marketing purposes.

I have been apart of the Arrive beta for months now and absolutely love it. The live view map is my most favorite, allowing me to see the journey my package has taken. I also love the way Arrive pulls shipments straight from your email. It’s super quick and convenient! Great work @robjama I can’t wait to see what’s next in the roadmap!
Abadesi
@robjama @3raxton Live map is far more helpful than the timestamped lists most logistics trackers use. Can't wait for this to come to the UK 🇬🇧 !
braxton
@abadesi it’s super intuitive! Something I could stare at for hours 🤑
Brendon Rell
Nice, works great! Any plans to enable scanning of multiple email accounts? I've got deliveries in more than one.
Robleh Jama
Thanks @brendonto ! Yup, for sure. That's one of our top requested features. We'll be looking into adding that soon.
Jim Zhou
Wow this looks like a better (and less selling-your-data) version of Slice! Do you guys have an Android app lined up sometime soon?
Robleh Jama
@jim_zhou Thanks Jim! We're looking at Android for 2018!
Arturo Ojeda
@jim_zhou It would be cool if Product Hunt (@rrhoover) had a wait list feature for Android (or iPhone for Android-first apps) users built in, so we can enlist for a waiting list instead of having every company create their waiting list.
Robleh Jama
@jim_zhou @rrhoover @arturo_ojeda That's a great idea. Feature request for Ship (https://www.producthunt.com/ship)!
Ryan Hoover
@jim_zhou @arturo_ojeda @robjama we're working on that with Teams. 🎉

If you don't use GMail or you don't want this app accessing your emails, you're out of luck.

Pros:

The UI looks nice.

Cons:

App requires having access to your GMail account.

Dave Poly
Looks sleek. It's definitely a forward-thinking product with so many purchases being done online now. Does it do last mile real-time tracking? If you incorporate an Uber-like tracking element that could tell me when my package/delivery person was about to arrive at my door then I will love this app forever. Can't tell you how many times I've stepped out for 10 minutes only to come back to a "missed delivery" slip on my door.
Alexandre Mouriec
The app is so beautiful and works really well 👍 I use it since the beta and used it for some purchases and it worked perfectly 👌 Great job 👏
Jonathan Widawski
This project has been in my notes for so long, I'm so glad someone is doing it (and execution looks amazing!). Cheers to the team!
Robleh Jama
@widawskij Thanks Jonathan 😺
Waqas Ali
The app solves a meaningful problem for me since I often have tons of packages going and coming. My only worry is if Shopify on a similar route like Facebook and keep track of all the things I buy and share the data with other companies?
Daryna Kulya

Onboarding was a joy (it rarely is) and seeing all my deliveries in one place without having to search my inbox is almost magical.

Pros:

Such a joy to use, looks beautiful

Cons:

None

Vanessa Myers
@darynakulya hope you don't have your banking information on your email.
Haneef Ghanim
Awesome stuff @robjama! This looks way better than getting long tracking emails from FedEx. Any plans for Android?
Robleh Jama
@haneefghanim Thanks Haneef! Congrats again on your PH launch earlier this week. We're looking into Android for 2018 :)
Marius Masalar
Good timing! I was just starting to get annoyed by my current two solutions—Deliveries & Parcel—both of which have poor handling of Amazon deliveries, which make up the bulk of my arrivals. First impressions are positive for Arrive, so I have high hopes. :)
Chase
Looks great! I've been looking for a Slice alternative and this could be it. I connected it to my Gmail and a bunch of deliveries were added, but they all say "Waiting for details..." and very little information is available. Is this just temporary while it finishing scanning and updating? I installed it about an hour ago.
Aleksander
Great idea and the design looks splendid! Only wish you didn't require email integration - I don't personally use Gmail for online purchases, and even if I did I'm a little hesitant to give other services access to my emails. Would love for there to be an option to manually input tracking numbers.
James Frewin
Always amazed at how good the stuff is that the Shopify team work on is! Very excited for this to come to the UK!
Mohit
It would be useful if app doesn't take whole Gmail access. I would be happy to forward my order emails to arrive and have arrive track it. There has been a lot of apps asking to access email which I am not comfortable with.
Aloke

Caught my shipments right away and it was cool to see the journey of my package. Great idea. Big shout out to the team!

Pros:

Very very easy to use

Cons:

None

Sambruce Joseph

Love the UI but just make the Gmail access permission optional

Pros:

Arrive is by far the fastest to update on shipment tracking. I use a few apps at once to track my packages, and Arrive is the fastest by far

Cons:

Biggest fallback is it only works if you give access to read my Gmail emails. There should be a way to manually paste my tracking number.

Stuart Pino
Looks awesome, but isn’t this just a way for Shopify to gather data on what you are buying and your shopping habits off Shopify?
