👋 Hello PH community! I’m Trevin, Chief Product Officer at Sketchy. Sketchy is the leading study resource for med students across the country (seriously, if you know a med student, ask about us!), beloved as a way to make studying more efficient, effective, and fun. We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of students become doctors, and we also serve premed students taking the MCAT, as well as PA and Pharmacy students. Now, we’re so excited to announce our brand new Wine course! 🍷 Why Wine? Notwithstanding cheesy jokes on signs outside bars, wine doesn’t sound a whole lot like medicine. But at Sketchy, we’re more than just doctors—we’re writers, engineers, historians, artists and chefs, and yes, even wine experts. And also wine novices. So we know that the world of wine is so vast that it can be overwhelming, and trying to learn more can feel like a real chore. The result is that lots of people find a couple wines they like, and stay in that comfort zone. That’s a shame, because there’s so much good wine out there, and so many interesting stories to tell. We want to help you dive in deeper, so you can branch out into trying new grapes and styles, pair wines with food, and experience the full richness of this world! 🦉 Who this is for? Whether your experience with wine is that there’s red and there’s white, or you already know that you love late harvest Rieslings, Sketchy has something for you! There’s always more to learn about a grape or style, and from beginners to enthusiasts, we help make that information easy and fun to remember. 🧠 How Sketchy helps you learn more quickly We use memorable stories, clever mnemonics, and the power of spatial memory to help you learn faster and remember longer. Basically, we give you the win-win of making learning more fun AND stickier than reading a textbook. We could talk all day about how we hack your brain using the ancient method of loci or exploit the thousands of years of evolution that have honed your brain’s spatial retention, but honestly it’s quicker and more fun to try it for yourself! 🚀 Introducing Pinot Noir We just launched our first lesson on Pinot Noir! In this short lesson you’ll meet Detective PI Noir and learn everything you need to know about this famous grape, so that next time you’re at the store or out to dinner you can decide on a bottle that you’ll love. We invite you to check the first lesson out and sign up for early access to the FREE beta that we’ll launch next month. You’ll help us shape our curriculum and influence where we take it! In our full beta launch next month, you’ll get additional free lessons covering more wine grapes, regions, and styles, so you can think about wines like a pro. We can’t wait to hear what you think! https://sketchy.com/wine-ph
