Microsoft's Google Hangout competitor. Surprised Skype didn't launch this years ago, tbh.
We're big fans of Zoom.us at PH.

@rrhoover apparently launched only in the USA for now

@rrhoover looks pretty good... will def give it a shot - any word on Slack + Screenhero rollout?

@rrhoover: I have to make a tiny comment on the video: Being interrupted mid run is awesome... it's what everyone wishes these days :D They should have thought of something different if they wanted to have an excuse to show the mobile app on the go. This would make me hate it more than love it

@ourielohayon @rrhoover And again a product that you can't use in Europe... 😓
Abe Storey
@rrhoover out of curiosity, what do you like about zoom.us? Edit: if slack is listed as a customer, there must be something 🔥 about it

I'm no videoconferencing expert, but Isn't this what Skype already did? Is it just free now? Or is it just called "Meetings" now? Oh! A new invite link system! I take it all back! Groundbreaking!

@mrkwse @davidryalpug The difference is that Skype for Business no longer requires an Office 365 subscription.

I'm in New Zealand, and I'm getting 'This service isn't available in your region yet - but we're working on it.' This is just silly. Skype is not a bootstrapping startup.
Tomas Williams
Not available in my region yet (Canada). I hope that changes soon.

I could be missing something, but it seems the only addition to the this "new product" is "Personalized URL to join from any device." Or is it that it is essentially "Skype for the web"? What am I missing?

That video seemed like a tremendously laborious way to showcase a feature: that there are now Office integrations and links that open a meeting directly. I don't want to get notified during my runs of conference calls, and I don't need to see some company fly a plane to understand what a video conference tool is. How is this even a new product? Very confused. Maybe I'm not the target market, despite using video conference calls pretty much every day.

This took wayyy too long, but better late than never. Might try it out for the next meeting, excited about the powerpoint possibilites

Skype is absorbing all of Microsoft's messaging and video tech. Soon it will do SMS as well.

Got excited and then disappointed right away (See screenshot). The typical Microsoft way :( http://imgur.com/TfCig8Y

This is amazing for holding webinars. Does anyone else have a better, free-er solution?

@arecenello Have you tried TeamViewer?
Andrei Canta
Too bad - it's not available in Romania at the moment.
Jakob Thusgaard
Hm... "not available in my region"...
Braunson Yager
This service isn't available in your region yet - but we're working on it. :\
Tim de Raaf
Hm not yet available in The Netherlands..

Jeremy-it's more like Microsoft has incorporated Skype's features into their Lync and Office 365 products.
Eric Bye
Seems like a lot of effort to go to just because Skype on Mac seems to be unable to find the mic or speakers all the time..
Xenia WordArt
Looks good; do you upgrade Skype to use this? Is it only in the US? How about us based in Europe? I did go around the help pages for a while.
gary c
make this available in Singapore pls

I do all my client meetings with zoom.us on a pro account which costs 15/mth - the free account has a meeting duration of 40 minutes. It's straightforward for the less tech savvy people and a lot cheaper than gotomeeting etc.

Nice video presentation. Congrats!
