Kevin Reevers
any plans for other browser support?
Mohith G
@kreevers Yes, we have just submitted 1.1 with more fixes related to quality and once we publish it, we will be starting work on 1.2 which has support for Firefox.
Rowe Morehouse
Useful extension. The one click copy to CodePen is pretty cool. I'd say this is an alternative to "CSS Scan."
Mohith G
@rowemore Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, this is kind of alternative to CSS Scan but we want to offer it for free. You are also welcome to make feature requests and you can expect them in our future releases.
Ethan Glover
@rowemore It looks like an exactly copy with a little less quality. The styles of the box. All the functionality is exactly the same. This feels more like a pirated copy rather than an alternative.
Mohith G
@ethan_glover thanks for taking time to review. We have improved our quality in version 1.1, which is in review right now, you can try the new version directly from our website now. Well, we might be in feature parity today with "CSS Scan" but we are going to add more features in the future.
Ethan Glover
@mohith_g I just bought CSS Scan. Thanks for making me aware of it.
Mohith G
@ethan_glover You're welcome
Rowe Morehouse
@ethan_glover Yah, it's a copy … One thing to point out: You don't have to have a new idea … you can take a concept that's already on the market and just do it 10% better. I'll tell you what, though — If I was going to clone CSS Scan I would at least change the color scheme. hahaha. :)
Guilherme Rizzo
@rowemore Hi, Rowe! Thanks for buying CSS Scan :) You can export elements to Codepen with CSS Scan as well (since a few months ago), just pin the CSS window using the space bar key and then click on the export/share icon on the top of it. They copied it from there. Please let me know if it works!
Mohith G
@rowemore Thanks for your feedback, I'll keep the color scheme in mind for my next product :)
Ethan Glover
@rowemore That's a good attitude to take. I don't mind seeing similar products. CSS Scan is pretty expensive. Something that can beat that would make a lot of people happy I'm sure. :p But when it's painfully obvious that it was just copied... not cool. That's when it becomes theft. And I doubt the support will be there in the long term for something that was just ripped like this.
Mohith G
@ethan_glover We've not copied any code and built grounds up using latest frameworks/libraries. May be the inspiration of color schemes is present, but we will allow users to customize the color schemes soon. We wanted people to use a tool like this for free. Regarding support - We've already submitted version 1.1 with the feedback we got from users of version 1, which is in review with Google, if you want to try version 1.1 you can always download it from our site by clicking "Buy us a coffee" button. So we're at the least committed to support the feedback we get. Thanks again for your comment.
Rowe Morehouse
@rowemore @gvrizzo I was wrong! … yes I found it. Thanks Guilherme. :)
Josh Jarman
This looks identical in design and function to CSS Scan, are they related? https://www.producthunt.com/post...
Tom Bazarnik
@josh_jarman Thats nearly exactly the same design but free and laggy
Mohith G
@tom_bazarnik I'm sorry to hear that its laggy, we have made few performance improvements in version 1.1 which is currently in review to get into webstore. For now, you can play with version 1.1 in our site.
AMelia Lin
@mohith_g Stealing the whole work of others is not a bright thing
Mohith G
@amelia_lin We wrote all the code from grounds up in latest technologies/ libraries as a small side project, and thought to give it to world to use for free. I don't think building ideas from market is stealing. But I appreciate your comment. Please stay tuned, we're planning to open source this soon, so others can fix it as per their use!!
Mohith G
This is one of the smartest browser extension for CSS inspection. No need to open inspect element anymore for CSS. You can directly view CSS of any element in any website and edit the styles in realtime. Also, you can open the styles in codepen and experiment with them all in one click!! What are you waiting for? Install this beautiful extension for free and play with CSS!!
Snk Reddy
@jesswallaceuk have you try css spider 1.1 version ?
Raymond Yeo
Would vanilla CSS come up even if the website was coded using Bootstrap?
Mohith G
@raymond_yeo Yes that should not be a problem
Atakan Akbas
I really liked it. Resembling an existing product is not theft.
Mohith G
@atakanakbas Thank you for your support
