My cat is both fat and British, any plans to sell in the UK? Love the idea and the execution, beautiful stuff!
Calvin Bohn
@liammckay Unfortunately we're still getting our legs under us in the US, but would love to make it to the UK in the future! Optimistically, though, we're talking minimum 2 years before then

@calvin_bohn Music to my cats ears, he gets to eat his junk food for another two years! Seriously though that's understandable, best of luck with it!

A friend recently revealed to me that the kitty treats I'd generously been giving her cat were the calorific equivalent of a BIg Mac *each*. It's so inspiring to see makers solving the problem of healthy cat food to improve the longevity of our feline friends, would love to hear more about how the ingredients are sourced @calvin_bohn @matthew_michaelson 😻
Calvin Bohn
@matthew_michaelson @abadesi Thanks @Abadesi! Our sourcing is all from human purveyors - a restaurant supplier called Market Distributors for our meat, and Valley View Produce for our, uh... produce. We explicitly ask for products that would otherwise be wasted but are still high-quality, like trimmings from chicken breasts that weren't originally quite the right size for restaurants

@matthew_michaelson @calvin_bohn I love the commitment to reducing food waste, too. Sustainability ✚

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall learning that cats can't really metabolize vegetables and stuff, only meat. If that's actually the case, why do your foods include things like peas and kale, which cats would not normally eat?
Calvin Bohn
@chris_crompton1 It's great to see you've done your research! Our recipes are all 90-95% meat, but we use small amounts of vegetables to mimic the way that cats eat the contents of the gut of their prey. This also allows us to deliver some nutrients via vegetable rather than supplements

I'm neither in the US nor do I have a cat but I just spent quite some time browsing through your website. Great art direction!
Calvin Bohn
@marcorei Thanks Markus!

The box it came in was a fun surprise with little things like diamond dust powder (chicken liver powder) or the liquid gold (chicken broth) it’s all so clevery marketed

Pros:

My cats love it and I love that it’s natural and good for them!

Cons:

The top of the loaf doesn’t peel open as easily as as say a Chobani yogurt how it peels all the way off and doesn’t leave anything behind.

My concern after evaluating the nutrient facts that you have sent us, your food should NOT be recommended for ALL LIFE STAGES as advertised. This is a term that can often MISLEAD buyers. For instant the CAN flavors Phosphorus content in the three flavors (turkey, beef, chicken) is not high in Phosphorus but not especially low - they are all just over 200mg/100kcal but also contain dicalcium phosphate, a phosphate additive- which should NEVER be recommended for SENIOR KIDNEYS, or cats with early CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE. All of the food contain beans and peas, so they aren't super-lower carbs, which are starches and convert to sugar, which causes GI Track Inflammation, which is NOT suitable for cats with IRRITABLE BOWEL DISEASE, or PANCREATIC FLARE UPS . Pros: All are pretty high in protein; turkey is highest protein, lowest fat, highest carbs (still not crazy high in carbs, but would be lower without the beans and peas). WHY BEANS and PEAS? 🧐 Cats would NEVER consume these in the wild for they are OBLIGATE CARNIVORES and lack the digestive enzyme AMYLASE. The Freeze died contains bones and the average pet owner would in “good faith” purchase this product not knowing that BONE IS HIGH IN PHOS, again NOT SUITABLE FOR SENIOR cats. IF your company really care for cat’s health PLEASE label your product correctly. If not SMALLS is no better that the corporate brands making cats sick.

I really love this idea. I usually get all my food recommendations at https://mycatsupplystation.com but I think I'll start looking at this in the future!

My cat used to be overweight. At first, I didn't pay much attention to her weight, but after talking to a vet, understood that I had to change her nutrition or at least monitor the amount. Also, I surfed the Internet and found a good article here https://www.catfoodpoint.com/how... So, I just started feeding my cat twice a day, around 12 hours apart, but of course, a cat’s feeding schedule depends on age and health mostly. And of course, I'm interested in good and quality food. Thanks, I'll look for the mentioned brand in my area.

Where can I find those foods? I need to change the ration for my cats.
