Great idea! Airlines and airports are looking for ways to make returning flights more convenient. From the moment luggage comes out of the airplane, it's very hard to track where it is. So let's say I have lost luggage anxiety, but I've pretty much been going carry-on only for the last 3 years.
Question - I saw this notifies you when your luggage is more than 30 meters away. Does it have actual tracking to tell you exactly where the luggage is?
ie, when Frontier Airlines says they don't know where my bag is, I can say "I see it on the map in Ontario, CA"?

As far as the accuracy of the trace, as you may know from driving your car through a tunnel, GPS does not work if not exposed to the satellite. The Smart Unit was not conceived to replace GPS but it works inside your luggage and can tell you if your luggage has taken the flight or not, has been delivered to the airport, and if the baggage has landed at the airport -- unless someone has tampered with your luggage. The precision and accuracy of the Geo Request depends on the quantity and proximity of the GSM antennas located in your area. The Smart Unit picks up the 4 closest antennas and sends a triangulation report where you receive the mean average between the 4 closest antennas.
So yes, you can definitely say to Frontier Airlines where you bag is thanks to the app.

Thanks to the app, you can precisely locate your luggage using the Smart Unit device. Once you have tracked your luggage, you can ask your airline company to help you retrieve it and send your luggage to your door. In fact, many airline companies were surprised at first because users knew the exact location and they didn’t.
The Smart Unit device works best if it is placed on top of your luggage. If it is buried deep in your suitcase, among your clothes, it will be difficult to detect an opening.
