@cgimmer I think video producers/editors will love this tool to create assets quickly, easily and on a budget. Especially given the market for "buzzfeed" videos.
Ive used this and Pablo by Buffer. Both are good, but I really preferred Snappa as it provides a better range of starting sizes for images for more than just social networks.
Having worked with Chris before, I can also say you'll be in good hands with Snappa.
Looking forward to seeing the other integrations as this will really help distinguish Snappa as the tool of choice.
Great work guys, keep it up!
Hi everyone. I'm one of the co-founders of Snappa. Thanks for checking us out!
Our goal is to make the easiest graphic design tool you'll ever use. When we looked at what was currently available, we found that most tools fell in two camps. They were either really easy but overly simplified, or had tons of features but were difficult to use. With Snappa, we wanted to make it incredibly easy yet allow you to create highly engaging images.
In addition, we wanted to integrate directly with social media networks to allow for direct posting and a super efficient workflow. We're also going to be adding other integrations in the future like a WordPress plugin.
Finally, we wanted to introduce an all-inclusive pricing model with thousands of built-in visual assets and no additional charges.
Big stepup from Pablo well done This is another great addition we've seen from makers this year to bring really substantial tools to non dev people to use. It's allowing people to build more robust MVP's cheaper and to run more effective media campaigns also.
Love this. Though, I think the Holy Grail in templated social media and ad design is to export to the multitude of social and ad sizes. Have you scaled your templates to allow for this? This is the biggest problem I hear about from social and design teams.
@ryanmac We have in-house designers who are continuously adding new pre-designed templates to the platform. As we continue to grow, we will continue investing in more templates because it's definitely one of the biggest selling points and what our users love the most. We're currently working on an image resizing feature which will also enable us to speed up the amount of templates being created.
I just discovered I'm already registered but had forgotten about you, but I don't see where. I haven't had a need for the service just yet, though I have before. May I suggest you occasionally email users, I've opted out of the design tips, but app updates (perhaps a monthly newsletter) would be good.
Hi Christopher, Glad to see you here on ProductHunt. I've used Snappa several times and loved it. It's very intuitive and easy to work with. I do think you're going to have a tough time competing with Canva if you don't make it clear for people what the difference between you two is. I've used Snappa and Canva and can't really notice the big USP in using Snappa.
@raultiru Thanks Raul. I think with every market there will always be more than 1 competitor and I think it's important to give customers different product choices. I feel we're bringing a tool that's extremely easy to use with a clean UI and many of our users/customers prefer that. That being said, I'm sure other people will still prefer Canva and we're totally cool with that. Also keep in mind that we're still a new product with lots of room to grow so as we progress I think it will become more and more clear how we're different. We have some really cool stuff in the works.
@cgimmer I have no doubt that It's going to be awesome! I've been using Snappa en Canva for months. In my opinion, 100 people giving compliments won't help as much as giving honest feedback. I can't wait to see how you're going to make this a great success. Not sure if you remember, but I gave you some great props here: http://www.raultiru.com/free-sto... ;) I'm glad to see that Snappa is trending on Product Hunt.
@raultiru Hey Raul I totally appreciate and value your feedback. And yes I do remember the post :) We hope to keep improving the product and continue to offer more value.
I've used Snappa for a couple of months now and I find myself using it more and more all the time. I can tinker in Illustrator and Photoshop, but really have no idea what I'm doing in there and get overwhelmed pretty quickly. Snappa is clear, simple, and I feel confident when I use it that I'm actually using it right. Snappa has everything a non-design guy like me needs to easily and confidently make a great graphic in just a few minutes! Keep up the great work!
Hey, I was thinking about this concept. If there anything like this. Registered and started creating Marketing material for my Mac Apps. As, I am marketing guy. Tool something like this will same time, not to wait for graphics designer to get the design ready for my campaigns. Lots of LOVE and all the best for the future.
Well, I have mixed feeling about this.
The tool get's the job done, only in the technical sense.
If you are not a designer eventually you will make visual mistakes.
I think this tool is awesome for people who cannot afford, or don't have a designer atm.
But it troubles me the thing you guys say in your website "Create highly engaging images without the help of a graphic designer."
Maybe is not intentional, but you are saying "the design ppl are only image's and graphics droppers" and that's wrong in my point of view.
Guys don't take me wrong, the tool helps ppl who are struggling without a designer, but this will never substitute a designer.
@jediklai Hey Diogo. You're right.. Snappa will never be able to replace the work of a professional designer and we don't want to discredit the work of professional designers either. However, when we ask users why they sign up, a lot of them say "We want to create nice images quickly without having to use a graphic designer." The language we use on our homepage resonates very well with the audience we're trying to serve.
@askdaylen I must agree, almost everything is free but the stock photos... Indirect revenue stream. The excuse are the photos the quality of tool is the lock in.
@askdaylen I agree. If you use your own assets, Canva is a much better deal. If you're doing a LOT of graphics and using a lot of third party assets, Snappa is probably, financially, a better move, but I'm with you.
Looks like a really solid addition to the DIY design market with super simple pricing to boot. Limited use for free... or all the bells and whistles for a measly $10/month. It's always refreshing to see a SaaS company that doesn't get in their own way with a ludicrous pricing table. :) Good luck!
