Drop-in anytime to meet new people and chat with friends. Personalize your Soapbox experience with the groups you join. Rooms are open by default, or private for those more intimate conversations.
I’ve been following the beta of Soapbox for a while. I like the focus on connecting with people you already know. It has a simpler interface too. Excited to see where it goes.
I’ve been on the platform since it’s early beta and have been impressed by the team’s ability to keep refining the experience on Soapbox. Looking forward to keeping tabs on what Dean and Jeff are building.
Because good conversations don’t need good lighting! The simplicity of the app combined with quality audio makes Soapbox the easiest way to quickly tap into chats with friends and browse interesting groups. @dean_eigenmann1 and Jeff are working hard to bring back simplicity and fun to our interactions🤘
Soapbox feels like Clubhouse but for real people and conversations. While I love the explosion of audio-first social I've noticed more often than not on Clubhouse I feel like I'm listening to or recording podcasts rather than talking with old friends. Huge fan of what @dean_eigenmann1 and the team are doing to make their app more casual.
@notscottmoore that's how Clubhouse felt in the beginning — more like intimate conversations among friends... but as the platform has growth, it's become quite a different place for conversations.
Also, dunno if you know but Clubhouse was originally an app called Talk Show, but the model didn't take off, so they pivoted to Clubhouse (focused less on scheduled conversations, formality, etc).
Very non pretentious community versus competing platforms. Solidly built and has great UX. Builders of the Soapbox are actually on the app every day engaging with regular users.
UX is simple and actually fun to use, made for casual conversations. The audio quality is also better than most VoIP applications. It's a really fun application to use with friends and strangers alike. Group features makes it easy to meet people interested in the same things as you, it's almost like reddit but for talking.
Where Clubhouse absolutely fails to deliver, Soapbox actually holds up and delivers. With a diverse community of people, minigames, link sharing, and emoji reactions, Soapbox actually makes an attempt to foster a community and get people to interact with each other - not just listen to wannabe thought leaders.
Soapbox is like being invited to a table at your favorite pub with a bunch of your friends and some new ones you haven't met before. @dean_eigenmann1 is absolutely crushing it in delivery of features that users want.
