With WALTR 2, you can wirelessly drag-and-drop any Music, Ringtones, Videos, PDF & ePUB files into iPhone, iPad or iPod without iTunes (& no extra apps). Even files that aren't supported by iTunes, such as FLAC and MKV.

To sum it up– WALTR 2 is a fantastically efficient solution for all of us who loathe iTunes and value drag-and-drop simplicity.

Can I add songs to my iPhone that I can play in iTunes?
Josh
@joshdance do you mean iTunes on your iPhone? Or the Music app with Apple Music? If so, then YES :)
Jack Smith
iTunes sucks so bad
Josh
@_jacksmith That's why we're here, Jack.. That's why we're here :)
Michael Henry
I see this being really useful for Chrome OS, where there is no official offering from Apple for transferring content to your device. Is that in the works?
Josh
@badhairday Definitely something that we have planned. From a business stand point – we decided to start with the most popular OS – Mac/Windows. As soon as we feel a big demand for Chrome OS – we will jump on it right away :)
Yaroslav Azhnyuk
That's what iTunes should be. Apple should buy them now.
Victor Basyul
@yaroslavazhnyuk right on, Yaroslav! Quoting one of WALTR customers here: "If Apple didn't do it, then WALTR will".
Ouriel Ohayon
any advantage of using this vs dropbox?
Josh
@ourielohayon to be honest, I've never tried dropbox for transferring mkv, flac, avi and playing on my iPhone. But I'm pretty confident that experience with WALTR 2 will be much smoother and much more pleasant.
Ira Haberman
An incredibly simple, powerful and amazing tool!
Josh
@irahaberman Thank you, Ira! Amazing feedback :)

I think everyone secretly wishes Apple would just create a "Device Manager" for Mac and Windows, but I'm sure it's partially hinged on the release of a standalone Apple Music app for Windows and the sunsetting of iTunes in general.
Victor Basyul
@benguild Apple has a lot of things going on lately. Unfortunately, iTunes does not quite look like one of them. Therefore, we decided to help ourselves & all the music and movie lovers out there by releasing our brand new WALTR 2 app. :)

WALTR 2 is a huuuuuge step forward. After all of the feedback and feature requests – I think this time Softorino crafted a perfect product.
Fraser Smith
Wait, it's out already? I thought I was supposed to get 24 hours advanced notice.
Josh
@frassmith It's out already. We sent out your early-access invitation on October 28th. I've checked the database for your email and it was sent to you. Can you please check your inbox, just to confirm.
Dany Novykov
Any plans to release WALTR for iPhone to transfer files back to the Mac? Apple's AirDrop doesn't work properly for how long... 3 years now?
Victor Basyul
@novniel thanks for this feature suggestion, Dany! Actually the main idea behind WALTR 2 is transferring files from your computer to an iOS or non-iOS Apple device. But we would consider this :)
Luuk Lamers
Love the idea. But why doesn't it work for Photos?
Josh
@xaddict We have this on our to do list. We actually succeeded in supporting photos but the problem was once you transfer it with WALTR, you wouldn't be able to remove it. So we didn't implement it :) We're still researching on the best solution for this.
Luuk Lamers
@joshsoftorino I actually have this exact same problem with iTunes :P I copied a bunch of photos and now I can't favorite, edit or delete them. Did you by any chance find a workaround?
Josh
@xaddict ouch :) well there's the hard way and that's using the restore option via iTunes or inside the iPhone. But you can also just try to re sync your device with iTunes. Can't remember if the sync will remove all photos though :(
Josh
We actually made this product, highly recommend trying it for any one who loves watching movies on an iPhone or iPad.
Josh
First off – @nivo0o0 thanks for hunting :) I'm Josh, one of the guys behind all Softorino products ...and the person you see in our videos Β―\_(ツ)_/Β― Before I move further, you should know that WALTR 2 is available for both, macOS & Windows. OK, so here's the deal– Two years ago, we launched WALTR to free users of iTunes and allow pushing any music or video into iOS devices via seamless drag & drop. Today I’m happy to let you know that we’re finally ready to unveil the long-awaited WALTR 2. It evolved into a universal (& magic) drop area for pushing Any content into any Apple device. Now, you can wirelessly drag-and-drop any Music, Ringtones, Videos, PDF & ePUB files onto your iPhone, iPad or iPod without iTunes. What's new & matters: - Automatic metadata recognition - Wi-Fi transfer support (beta) - PDF, ePUB support - Non-iOS device support (20+ Legacy iPods, including iPod Classic from 2001) And btw, for all you music & movie lovers – you can drop MKV, AVI, FLAC files and WALTR 2 will eat it. As a result, you'll get all of your content on the device in the best quality possible. I.e. FLAC turns into ALAC with no quality loss :D So Product Hunters, go ahead and try it – the app has a 1 day trial without any restrictions. For anyone who wants to upgrade from the original WALTR – good news, you can just go to softorino.com/store/w2 and get your exclusive upgrade pricing :) If you have ANY questions, suggestions or cool feature requests – let me know and I'll try to answer ASAP!

@joshsoftorino @nivo0o0 Great solution and super excited to try Waltr 2 out. Very useful for managing file and stuff in general across multiple devices in the family.
Niv Dror
@joshsoftorino so glad I got a chance to try this! I love how smoothly it works -- and finally gives me a reason to use the default iOS Video and Music apps. The ability to just drag media files onto the phone is of the big conveniences I use regularly on my Galaxy 7 Edge, and saw it as a direct limitation in the iPhone... but no longer πŸ™ WALTR: Highly recommended, and it goes without saying how wonderful it is to not have to use iTunes...
Josh
@nivo0o0 Thanks, Niv!! Perfect scenario ;) Once again, thanks for hunting it.
Matthieu de Luze
That's a BRILLIANT solution πŸ™€ I was looking for something like this for years! I would also love to have a reverse solution, specially for my music & ringtones stuff : from iOS devices to computer because iTunes is such a pain... And btw, the onboarding process is sooo smooth, I love it 😻
Josh
@matthieudeluze πŸ™ Thank you, Matthieu!! We may figure out a reverse solution in our upcoming products. Though there are many apps that can already export stuff from your device. For example, iMazing.
Victor Basyul
@matthieudeluze I am glad you like it! The main idea of WALTR 2 is getting your juicy content onto iOS and non-iOS Apple devices without any hassle. In case you need to get it out, there are already lots of third-party apps for that. But thanks for the suggestion, though! :)
Ivan Pasichnyk
Looks too good to be true! Could you also send Flac tracks into iPod shuffles??
Josh
@ivan_pasichnyk Yes, all iPod shuffles are supported and you can drop any music format into it. It will be converted on the fly if needed. πŸ™
Dom Jocubeit
What an amazing app! Just tried an MKV & MP3 and it works flawlessly. It's so fast! Blown away.
Victor Basyul
@kodemunki thanks for your awesome feedback, Jurgen! One of the biggest drawbacks of iTunes is the fact that it does not support a lot of mainstream file formats as well as makes you sync your Apple devices every single time you wanna transfer something onto them. On the other hand, WALTR 2 takes care of pretty much any format you throw at it and it does not require you to sync your devices at all β€” this makes it so fast & convenient! !
aprudy
It looks great. Sadly, the price is a notable impediment.
Josh
@aprudy Thanks for the honest feedback. WALTR 2 has more features but if you would like to get something for a better entry price – we still sell, support and update our original WALTR app.
Steven Rueter
Solves a problem, love it
Josh
@rueter Thanks for the feedback, Steven :)
Henno
I've been using airdrop to send myself files wirelessly, then opening them with "File Manager" to watch/listen to them. What does Waltr do differently to that?
Josh
@h3nno Hi Henno – WALTR 2 is completely different from AirDrop. You can't airdrop songs and movies onto your iOS device without it going to the camera roll. WALTR takes any file and puts it in the native app without any compression or messing with iTunes. You can also transfer books, PDFs, Ringtones (without even trimming them). And most of all – you never have to worry about the file format of the file. If you just have regular MP4 videos or home videos – then sure, you can use AirDrop.
Thomas TomHawk Burningham
Can WALTR backup iPhone notes?
Josh
@thomas_tomhawk_burningham Hi Thomas, WALTR 2 can only transfer media into the device itself. Not the other way around. But good news – there are tons of apps to export media from an iPhone, probably even here on PH ;)
