Similar to Intercom available for the HomePod, 'Speak Text' lets you to play messages on your Sonos speakers via the Shortcuts app, Siri or automations utilizing the text to speech features built into iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

Hey There! New version of Soro is here with a new 'Speak Text' action that allows you to play short messages, announcements or notifications on your Sonos speakers using the Shortcuts app on iOS, iPadOS and macOS. Due to the Shortcuts app being deeply integrated with the OS and other 3rd party apps, the options are endless; - record and play an message from a Home Screen widget or Siri to play in another room of your home - play a morning summary as part of an automation - pipe a ChatGPT output from one of the 3rd party shortcut actions to your speakers Sending a message works by being mixed in with the currently playing content, after the message finished playing, the already playing content continues playing.
