@ryan_olsen I hope that we're going to see a big resurgence in couch multiplayer games. The trouble is that with local multiplayer, 4 players are playing on 1 copy of the game, where with distributed multiplayer, each player has their own copy. This means less money for developers. One of my recent favorite couch multiplayer games is TowerFall Ascension.
@psuchase I think that's part of the reason but also because how behavior has shifted. It's so much easier to play with friends by logging into whatever connecting service your device/system has. You don't have to share a screen, graphic quality doesn't take a hit and more.
