@denzhadanov love spark! Smart inbox is genius. Only issue with it is that it's too slow. It's gotten much better recently, but I still spend more time looking at the loading spinner than my email. Is that something you're working on?
I think my ideal iOS email client would be spark + speed of outlook.
@mscccc Thanks for the feedback Mike! The loading and pre-loading speed might be slow sometimes because all categorization and loading via IMAP is done on the client side. But yes, we are working on that so give us a few weeks please :)
@mscccc@denzhadanov Are you sure this isn't your mail server that's slow? I've had no issue with speed at all, and find Spark remarkably quick most of the time.
Thank you guys for all the nice words! I'm super excited for the whole team behind Spark that we finally managed to crete a truly universal email client for iOS. I might be slightly biased, but I do believe that it provides the best email experience and solves the problem of overwhelmed inbox that all of us have. Well, Apple thinks so too that's why Spark got "Best of the App Store 2015" award.
Why should you use it? Email is both incredibly frustrating yet important. Your bloated inbox is a mess and you never know what's important and what's not. That why you create your own techniques to solve that.
With Spark it's much easier since it's smart and fully customizable. A few things that I personally love:
- Smart Unified Inbox (new emails are categorized by "Personal emails", "Newsletters" and "Notifications" so it's super easy to see what's important and delete stuff you don't need
- Quick Replies (reply with just one button)
- Customization (swipes, smart widgets, etc could be customized the way you like it).
- Quick swipe to change signatures
- Smart search - natural language search
There're much more to discover and I would love to answer your questions.
And yes, we are already making a Mac version. So stay tuned and like your email again! :)
I use Spark (almost) exclusively (there are 2 others I use here and there, one specifically for one feature it has) and Spark is by far my favorite iOS e-mail app. Love the swipe setup (I'm experiencing e-mail streamlining bliss lately with a Trash, To Dropbox, Snooze, To Evernote combo!). Can't wait for iTunes, Amazon, Package Tracking, Stats, Weather, and Contacts to be implemented.... can you tell I'm excited about this e-mail app?
If I could offer one suggestion, I'd love to see a button for "People" (perhaps this is what you're already putting together for Contacts) where clicking into a contact will give me his or her contact info, a list of our recent mail, events, files between us. I guess you can tell Outlook is one of the other apps I open on occasion ;)
Oh, and, Mac version? Yes, please!
Been beta testing Spark since V1. Hands down the best email client I have ever used. Can't wait for the Mac app. I have constantly recommended Spark to my fiends and family and they love the app too; that means something ๐. Keep up the amazing work @denzhadanov and the Readdle team!
I'd love to use this on my iPad and iPhone, but for one issue. I live in China. Spark, like most email clients working with Google services doesn't work without a VPN connection enabled. As my VPN service has also recently come under attack from the GFW, I don't want to rely on any client that is vulnerable to blocking.
Strangely, Outlook works just fine on iPad and iPhone without VPN which is why it has to remain as my daily driver.
All that said, I'll keep a lookout for the upcoming Mac version.
nice!
I'm using the iPhone version and love it. Happy to see that Spark is getting bigger and bigger.
...I don't have an iPad so I can't try this one
BUT I'm waaaaay too excited for the Mac version ;)
I've been using Spark for a few months, since Mailbox announced it's closure. I really liked it but I sent a few emails to support because the connection with their servers was really slow, imposible using 3G. I never got a response. I switch to Airmail for iOS. I really like the app, but the support has not been that good for me. Sorry guys.
The smart notifications are the clutch feature of Spark. As someone who wears a Pebble smart watch, I appreciate not getting notified of EVERY... SINGLE... EMAIL on my wrist.
Been using Spark on iOS exclusively, and another client(Airmail) for Mac. So far, so good. Spark lays out emails in a way where I can attack them throughout the day, and get caught up. I was on the beta for the iPad version, and it's been fantastic on the iPad Pro. So happy to stick with a bunch of Readdle apps. Congrats on the official release!
I've loved this app since day one. I've pretty much installed every email app on the app store, always reverted to the Apple one until Spark came out, Switched to using it and never looked back.
@denzhadanov I have so many platforms to manage conversations, I'm used to Gmail - just need to star, reply and compose. I don't need any bells and whistles... yet!! :)
@bentossell I use Airmail on Mac and Outlook on iOS. I look forward to the Outlook for Mac building on the UX and features of the iOS version โ it _has_ to be inevitable...
I've been using Spark on iPhone since release and can't imagine having to go back to using anything else. It has become my preferred email client on any platform - I'd rather plough through emails on my phone in Spark than in any mail app on my Mac or iPad. Although now, happy to do it on my iPad too. The search alone puts it head and shoulders above anything else, it's mind-blowingly good.
I've been using this since the whole Mailbox App thing and in my opinion it's the best app on the market that gives me access to google apps, outlook, and yahoo and provides the snooze features. Still some kinks to work out on the snoozes, not as smooth as Mailbox, but it's the closest thing I have found. Only issue I see with Spark is they are trying to pack in too many features, Mailbox was nice because it was focused on the core thing of inbox zero, Spark is trying to be too much. But as a beta user on the ipad, love the new interface.
I'm part of their beta program and I'm thoroughly impressed with Spark. Quick replies are simple yet genius. You can choose between inbox zero or normal badge notifications. Its great. The only missing feature is true email tracking. You can enable read receipts but obviously that isn't a reliable way to know if someone has actually opened your email or not.
I loved using this app, I really felt it was the best email app out and was looking forward to the iPad and MAC versions.
Then someone pointed out their marketing and I had to stop using it. The marketing video came across as "an app for important white guy email business, oh and you'll get laid too". The product is great but the extreme lack of diversity in their marketing was a huge turn off. Back to Outlook it is.
for reference
Only thing I feel can be better is email rendering. I generally have to zoom out, pinch, and do a bunch of gestures to make sure the mail perfectly fits on my screen.
But absolutely love the categorization and how simple it is to manage multiple mailboxes on this client.
