Nico and Veronica. Both designs come in black-on-black with polarized lenses, effortlessly combining form and function to create our most fashionable hands-free camera. They capture up to 70 videos or hundreds of photos on a single charge — then transfer them to your phone, wirelessly.

Now with the more normal form factor, and the multiple export formats, I bought a pair.
Josh Kerr
Same. Love that they look normal now.

"A new feature due later this fall will automatically curate a day's best Spectacles captures into a Highlight Story. So if you wear them all day and take a plethora of stills and videos, this will prevent you from having to comb over everything yourself for the best moments." Curious what tech/algorithm they're using for this. I remember working Google+'s Photo Highlights feature as well as the autogenerated movies that Facebook generates and they're still pretty hit or miss...

They are still comically large and obvious. They look like the "Deal With It" glasses in the memes

Nice, Just need a virtual try on page to see if it fits me better than the v1 ..!
Ian
Which social networks besides Snapchat can it post to? For this money, I want it to be several social networks.
Craig Davison
Extremely happy with my v1 Spectacles and these have a much nicer look too! Really excited about this and future version

From their blog: "Nico and Veronica capture up to 70 videos or hundreds of photos on a single charge — then transfer them to your phone, wirelessly. They’re also water resistant, so you can take them with you almost anywhere!" Who's getting them? 😎

Pros:

• Multiple export formats (finally!)

• 30-day returns

Cons:

• New designs lack a charging case

• Still no virtual 'try on' ability in-app

Confused... Are these V3 or V2? They're Spectacles 2 though, right? Am I being pedantic?
Amrith
@life_rant You're right, they're still V2 but with 2 newer styles. Corrected the title now 👍

Still don't understand why we still can't buy them from New Zealand. During support interactions que Snao.Com, I heard three times from them that "international shipping was just around the corner" -- this was at the launch of V2 model. Why lie about it? Why the false-promising approach? Repeatedly. Not cool.

Snapchat's moving quick on getting new versions of their Spectacles out. I wonder how long it'll be until they launch a better Google Glass?
Rey Alejandro
@pottsjustin just realize if google do something simple first then transition to more crazy, it might work well.

Many people, particularly when it comes to eyewear, are brand loyalists and very particular about their style, tastes, and preferences. Would it not be more viable and more scalable to partner with a Luxotica (owners of Ray-Ban, Oakley, etc.), whose strengths are design and distribution?
Dave Poly
They're still putting money towards this project?
Joshua Dance
@dave_poly I just bought the new version. So it is working? :)

Beautiful design but it's such a small niche product and therefore I think it's doomed .
Jonas M Sota
@wassim_zoghlami capturing moments without leaving the moment is not a niche problem.
Wassim Zoghlami
it's not a real problem to begin with. It might be another Silicon Valley only problem though. The problem with Google glass or the first versions of this was not just Design issues but more about privacy violations and making everyone uncomfortable around you.
Jonas M Sota
@wassim_zoghlami Not a "real" problem? I strongly disagree. 1 )Increasing the richness of the capture [of moments]. 2) Decreasing the distraction from the moment when capturing. 1: The richer the capture, the richer the evocation of your emotional state at the time of the capture, as well as the richer the evocation of your emotional state at the time of engaging w/ the capture. Feeling and exploring my emotions are a top priority for me and a lot of other people. Like. . . most people? 2: There's a limit to how much I'm willing to compromise my current experience in order to capture the experience. Being "in the moment" is another of my top priorities. I think it's a top priority for a lot of other people, even if not explicitly expressed. I think that both of these points get to the core of the human experience. In the end, why should we build anything if not to either explore the human experience or support the exploration of the human experience?
Wassim Zoghlami
@jonas_maximilian_sota this might be meaningful for some people as you described so that's why i said a 'niche' , in the EU market for example this product does not stand a chance , privacy is a top priority. In theory i agree , it's a beautiful design and i see your point about capturing moments, in real life the experience is very diffrent from what you expect. It will take a LOT of money to educate the market. let's see in a few months if this will survive :)

I'm sold on the widescreen export capability (plus having three little kids that I want a more convenient way to create memories of).

As filmmaker I have the first ones. They are amazing to film situations you else never would have catched. I feel like the first version should have included this more normal looking shape. Im sad little has been updated. Still in circle format, making it even more low-res to export and cut into a normal video. And no higher-res increase? Whoever makes normal looking video glasses with landscape 1080p good bit-rate video, can have my cash :)
Aurora
How many pixels is this?
Chand Sethi
More like v2.5 Also, official website lists it as Spectacles 2.

How much will be price for this glasses?
Lana Petrosyan
Cool!
