I've been using Speechify for a while now and consider it one of the best learning & productivity hacks available. If you consume audiobooks or podcasts on your daily commute, this product turns ANY text into that listenable format. The best part is that it effortlessly speeds up your rate of consumption, faster than you can normally read. Here are some things I've used Speechify for: - Wikipedia page to quickly learn about a topic - eBook that isn't available in audio format - PDF report, whitepaper, scientific paper - Any article online (e.g. Medium)

This is such a useful product. I love using Speechify to read stuff on the go (love the feature to send any article, pdf, readings for classes, any text to my phone). I listen to audiobooks all the time but there’s many books/articles that are not in audiobook form — and with Speechify I don’t have to worry about that anymore 🙌🙌🚀🚀

I can’t wait to use this to learn while designing.

We built Speechify because it is often easier to listen than it is to read and because, for most people, you can actually achieve a higher information intake speed by listening over reading (with some practice). This has revolutionized the way I do homework and even just work. I can digest information that otherwise would take me a long time to do so in such a short time now. I 100% recommend this!

Pros:

The chrome extension helps me since I have a google chrome book and not a MacBook.

I like how it is synced to my iPad‘s speechify account

Cons:

Theres not really any cons I have. Just make sure to update to the latest version, in order to have the fixes available

By far the coolest feature for me is the ability to use Speechify on the go! My one time during the day to consume new content is biking to and from work, and Speechify lets me gets through a number of my favorite Medium articles, books, and other pieces of content during my commute via the send to phone option. Keep up the good work!

Pros:

The simplicity of the product. Nothing fancy to setup: just highlight, and listen.

Cons:

None that are super noticeable. Voice is a bit computery, but is more than adequate.

Really useful, especially when I need to go through a document quickly and don't want to read it all. Convenient. Intuitive. Awesome idea.

Reading blocks of text is a nightmare for dyslexics so this is a great tool for my kids thank you 🙏

I have dislexia and most of the time feel frustrated having to read books...this is a great app. I really feel grateful. I would love for it to be a little less expensive so you can help more people around the world.

Scammed out of $150 from this nonsense

Terrible. Avoid! No capacity to export audio files. So they rip you off - charging for translating the SAME text EVERY TIME YOU LISTEN to it. So your “premium” subscription gets you about 3 days of vocalized text - then the premium subscription uses the FREE iPhone software to create audio files. You have that WITHOUT BUYING Speechify. Buy a product that allows you to create and export audio, NOT Seechify.

This is a decent product, but be very careful when you sign up for the free trial. It billed me $140 (Which I would personally never pay for a PDF reader) but luckily my card declined. I think it is bit scam-like to try and bill $140 after a 3 day free trial, but it taught me a valuable lesson.
