Train, track analyze your cycling data like a pro rider. Together with its built-in sensors and GPS, you can live-track your cycling data on the SpeedForce, a 2.2” inch touchscreen cycling computer. Removable and based on Android OS. Also features a wireless button “Black Dot” that you can put anywhere to easily switch screens when riding.
Wow, @raggylau, beautifully crafted. After watching the video, the only word that comes to mind is inspiring.
The "Black Dot" wireless button is a solid touch - not having to lift your hand off the bars to swipe the interface helps keep safety as a priority. Are you guys attempting to compete with some of the other apps out there (i.e. Strava) with your app? You can set new records on favorite segments it seems - is this all personal then? Or are you going to try and make it social? Or maybe just the ability to connect with another app (i.e. Strava)?
Good luck at CES this week!
@kevinguebert Our aim is to have everything integrated in our own ecosystem. Think of Apple with Under Armour tech in bikes. We already got a cycling app and you'll need to use it to connect to our bike.
Hi Raggy. Could you please comment on why SpeedX is almost none responsive to the backer of Leopard first campaign's comments?
I have received so many incorrect information from the customer support along with several promised delivery date. 8 months later and I still don't have the bike and no clear explanation on when I will have the bike. I also learned that the limited people that received the bike are having problem with missing parts. Something along the line of what Nick is suggesting.
There is no question that the SpeedX is doing great with innovating the industry yet the customer service needs to be fundamentally improved.
@rooz_khosravi did you order the Leopard or Leopard Pro? I'm curious to hear more about your experience. I'm *still* waiting on my bike too. Besides delivery my biggest issue is the false advertising. The website still shows the Leopard with a carbon wheelset–when I ordered it, the spec section said that's what it came with. They won't let me upgrade even if I offer to pay for everything (which I should not have to do).
@raggylau, sounds like there's more issues here to respond to as well.
@nickcreates. I backed up a leopard pro (with Clip-on Pedal, bottle cage and add-on Cycling Light). Received an email on the 1/13 that my bike is in the US 3rd batch and will be in LA on Jan 26th (different from the 24th stated in the Kickstarter update). The email said that I should receive a tracking when the bike hand over to UPS or FedEx. I am hoping that this process is swift. I am also hoping that all the parts are included in my package since many people reported missing items. There is also a mention in the latest Kickstarter update but it is unclear how SpeedX going to handle it. I left a comment to see if we could get more detailed plan on missing items. I will keep you posted on the quality and parts of the bike when I have it.
I am also interested in Unicorn. I am waiting to get my bike and then finalize my pledge for the new bike.
@raggylau I cannot follow your comment. Would you please elaborate more on what do you mean? What I noticed is SpeedX refers most of the comments to the one-to-one communication or support@Speedx.com with the backers in most of the group discussion/comments. I wish that SpeedX addresses these comments in public so similar concerns would be addressed at the same time and we all know the status of the progress. I would love to hear more of your inside knowledge of SpeedX long term plans (since you are the head of marketing for SpeedX) and what I mentioned in the earlier comment. The subpar customer support is the biggest dilemma that I have pledging for Unicorn - the bike is super innovative.
@rooz_khosravi Good choice, I wish I would have gone with the Pro at this point, but it still wouldn't have solved any delivery or support issues. I was originally told that I'd get the bike in December, but now support is unable to tell me when to expect its arrival. I also was never told that there were any upgrade options like you mentioned (pedals, cage, and light).
You touched on a good point here. SpeedX is not discussing core updates publicly, and are instead hiding and waiting for people to email their support team, or simply not notices changes that they've made–I can tell you right now, I'm not the only one that knows the difference between nice 50mm carbon wheels and cheap 40mm allow ones. They've sent me several non-public documents about bike specs and configurations. Why is that not public information? How are backers and buyers supposed to know to ask their support team? When I purchase something from a company I shouldn't have to email their support team and ask them if I'm actually getting what they're advertising/selling.
Now, @raggylau won't respond to my email. I'm sensing a trend...
SpeedX is doing some truly incredible work (with great collaborative efforts from Frog and Fibertek) that I feel will lead to large improvements across the cycling industry. It makes me excited to see what the future of smart road bikes holds.
The idea that there’s an affordable bike with high-end components, internal cabling and integrated tech is very impressive. So much, in fact, that I bought their first bike, the SpeedX Leopard.
However, with any Kickstarter project + new company beware of any promises (dates, deliverables, and more). Do your homework and double-check everything or you’ll end up very disappointed like me. For example: Prior to selling out of their first set of bikes they falsely advertised the Leopard with a fi'zi:k saddle and a nice SpeedX carbon wheelset (the current photos still show this set up and they just updated their Spec section a few days ago)–which is conservatively a $1600 value. However, you actually get a cheap alloy wheelset and a low grade saddle that you don’t know about until it shows up at your doorstep. Massively amateur move. Their support has been absolutely horrendous. I’ve spent the past month trying to upgrade the wheels to what they promised and they’re unwilling to help. I won't get started on the delivery schedule.
Hopefully this improves and SpeedX grows as a company.
Best of luck.
@raggylau - I'd like to talk about your support and marketing.
@nickcreates Thanks Nick for your comments. We're still learning it on the go as every startup. You can reach me at raggy@speedx.com.
The Leopard series is divided into the normal "Leopard" and the "Leopard Pro", both are sold on Kickstarter. The model that you mentioned is the Leopard Pro, but the price is more than that - it's at least $3000 (we stopped selling the Leopard series to put less stress on our factories).
@raggylau Thanks for the reply.
I understand that there are two models of the Leopard. They're also both sold on your website that's littered with deceptive imagery and specs. The $1600 I was referring to was in regards to the perceived value of the saddle + carbon wheels–$1600 more that I need to pay to get myself a saddle and carbon wheels that you promised. The bike I mentioned–the Leopard–is still on your website and all of your product photos show the bike with a fi'zi:k saddle and carbon wheels. The spec section said the same for nearly a year, until it was updated this week. This is why I have a massive problem. You're misrepresenting your product and you did not inform your early backers/buyers about the difference/change.
I'll follow up with more via email.
